Super Chuck's list of "must see" tracks within 8 hours of the Knox:
Eagle Raceway in Eagle, NE
US 36 Raceway in Cameron, MO
I-55 Raceway in Pevely, MO
Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO
I-69 Speedway in Gas City, IN
Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN
Belleville High Banks in Belleville, KS
If you are looking to hit three new ones in three nights, I would suggest to plan a trip to catch some of the speedweek shows around Indiana. There are some real killer tracks out there. The six consecutive USAC Midget shows at Boswell, Gas City, Liberty, Bloomington, Lawrenceburg and Kokomo look absolutely awesome--too bad it is the same week as the Knoxville Nationals.

Maybe the All Stars will have a week of great races West of Knoxville this season.

Sunday nights... Husets speedway , Brandon, SD has 360 and 410 divisions and is an awesome track to watch them at...
Fenders are like vacuums... they both suck.

Well Sprint Week and Midget Week has already been said. So I'll just throw out the sprint car tracks here in my home state of Indiana:
Friday - Gas City I-69 Speedway, Bloomington Speedway
Saturday - Lawrenceburg Speedway, Paragon Speedway, Putnamville (Lincoln Park Speedway)
Sunday - Kokomo Speedway
Plus all the special shows at Terre Haute, Haubstadt, Brownstown, North Vernon.
I'm sure you could keep busy.

Bloomington is one of the most scenic/prettiest race tracks you could find in the midwest with the green green grass and red red clay. I haven't been there enough yet to give some real good feedback on the racing action but it can produce some good racing. Haubstadt is quickly becoming my favorite race track right now. Everything about the place is great! Terre Haute has just a handful of races scheduled this year but the place could really use some support from the fans. And as far as history goes it ranks right up there with other facilities like The Grove, Eldora, K'Ville, Winchester, Salem, the Milwaukee Mile, Du Quoin and so forth.

It all depends on when you're talking about. There are tons of tracks within 8 hours...
If this post isn't results, stories or something c

Kevin Eckert's http://www.openwheeltimes.com is a great source for schedules, history, etc. For a great listing of tracks State by State and their respective website links, check out: http://www.speedwaysonline.com/HTML/Tracks/ovaltrackindex.htm There you'll find everything you need to know about planning your next racing adventure.

Start out by heading east to Indiana.
When are you planning your trip?

I went to Kokomo last year had to be one of the best racing I've seen in years. It was just a normal Sunday night and it was like a who's who on non winged drivers. I would like to get back and catch a whole weekend of non winged sprints. Just wished Iowa would run more non winged races. I'm open to about any weekend. What 3 tracks in Wisconsin race on fri, sat and sun? And does Pevely race a weekly sprint car show?

I-55 does not run weekly sprints. As far as Wisconsin goes, Badger Midgets run Sunday's at Angell Park and the rest of the tracks are here: http://www.chasinracin.com/track-locator/states/wi.shtml

Mark,
I'm flying out for the weekend of June 6,7, and 8th. They are running IRA Sprints at Dodge Co. and Oshkosh on Fri/Sat, then you could see the Midgets at Angell Park (an awesome place) on Sunday. The tracks are also pretty close to each other. I cant wait.
They also have a track near Oshkosh that runs on Thurs. night but it is an Asph track. They put several thousand fanny's in the stand at this big 1/2 and 1/4 mile track (LM's are there main class)
Later, JERSEY.

If there is a weekend when Belle Clair Speedway are running POWRi midgetson a Saturday night, and Haubstadt are running on Sunday nights, then go there. Unfortunately the stars are not aligned this yr to do that.
Both places are at the top of my favorite list for places to always see good racing.
