CLOVIS, Calif. (February 12,
2008) -- Jason Meyers made two passes to take the lead on Saturday night in the
Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series main event before finally
grabbing the checkered flag in a thrilling feature during Round 5 of the 12-day
Alltel DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park. The victory means Meyers, of
Clovis, Calif., is now eligible to be an Alltel All-Star.
There's nothing more Meyers can
do on the track, the voting is up to the fans, who must go to AlltelAllStar.com
and vote for Meyers as their favorite Alltel DIRTcar Nationals feature winner,
or text Meyers' Letter Code, which is "H", to 52191.
"Go AlltelAllStar.com and
let's show the world how proud California is of their racers," Meyers said.
"If you, the fans, vote me as the Alltel All Star, you can enter to win
one of two iPods that Elite Racing will be giving away.
"In order to be eligible for
the drawing, Meyers must be named the Alltel All Star and you must send an
email to [email protected] to
become registered for the drawing. Email must contain the following: Full
Name, Phone Number, Email Address and Mailing Address. Voting will remain
open until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 16 and the winning driver will be named
in a special ceremony shortly thereafter. If Meyers is announced as the
Alltel All Star, the winners of the iPods will be notified within seven days.
