Just walked in the door from the airport at 10:30pm on Sunday night. Left Orlando at 70 degrees, when we arrived it was 85 on Wednesday, it is 5 degrees outside with a windchill of -20. Perfect weather and great racing, I'd go do it all over again in a minute.

The heat races were for the most part, typical winged heat races, organized hot laps.... however the amains produced some very good racing, all in all a good time.

Only one complaint....why in the f&%k must we watch 80 madifieds every night run before the sprints! Most nights it was after 9:00pm before the sprints hit the track, and Saturday there were 8 heats of modifieds before a sprint heat. Never seen the sprints be second class citizens before, and I hope it isn't a sign of things to come.

It's hard to complain after such a great trip, but whoever organizes the shows down there has it totally backwards. I'll still go back, and like usual when the mods are on the track, I'll be in my car relaxing, and go back to my seat when the sprints are on the track.

There are always tons of modifieds at Volusia. It's been that way for years. The WoO sprints are only on their third or fourth year of being a part of the DirtCar Nationals. My dad has been down to Volusia a bunch of times working on a big-block modified. He's said there's always too many to count, even back in the 1990's. Tomorrow there will probably be like 70 late models along with 100 modifieds. The pits are going to be packed full.

91 Modifieds tonight. So many late models out back waiting already they ran out of room to park Sprint Cars.
