360s: B Main: Hockett. A Main: Sheridan (again), Ford, Johnson, Hockett. John Aden (sp?) had a tremendous flip in turn one on lap two.
Sheridan and Ford went at each other for a 15 laps. Good race.
410s: FT: Spencer 17.04. Heat 1: Kruser, Sheridan, Spencer. Heat 2: Witt, Miller, Hansen. Heat 3: Crawford, T. Jones, Hockett. Heat 4: Brown, Johnson, Ford. B Main: L. Jones, Golobic, #97. A Main: Kruser (again; he passed Spencer on lap 29), Spencer (took lead on lap 14), Cardey (lead through lap 14), T. Jones (from the back after changing a tire early), Hansen.
Johnson spun into turns 3/4, and Hocket T-boned him (gently). They both restarted. Sheridan flipped in turns 1/2 on lap nine.
Scott announced that Rip has three broken bones in his left foot from the belly flop last night. Will find out Monday whether he goes with a cast or pins. I think Scott reported the car counts at "23 360s" and "39 410s." No room at the inn in the pits, for sure.
The crowd was not all that much larger than Friday night, but without the drag strip in place, it's not as easy to tell from the parking lot fill-in. The stands were a bit fuller than Friday. I walked in at 6:15 or so both nights without waiting in line.
Dr. Sheetz had to perform surgery several times on the track surface, but it ran three lanes wide pretty much all night. As was the case Friday, most (though not all) of difficulties were in 3/4 rather than 1/2.

Will enter this separately, hopefully so Scott will see it. Just wondered if we could get reminders over the PA as to who's in what cars during the yellows and reds when there's a show like this or the Oval Nats. A lot of the cars are "visitors" at these deals, and we're unfamiliar with them. And we cannot hear you on the PA when they're running hard. Also no 360 listing in the program.
Otherwise, the typical great job by all three of you. Thanks.

So there was no replacement driver in the Ripper's car Saturday night? Does anyone know if his son is going to take over the driving duties while he gets well? I heard that he was pretty darn quick in practice last week.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The USAC National rule says you must be 18 to run ALL of the tracks. If you are 16 or 17 and emancipated you can run all tracks 7/10 and smaller. I would think USAC/CRA would be the same, but i don't know for sure.

I did not know he was that young. However, I would still like to find out if the Jory sprinter will even be running now that Rip is hurt. If anyone has any updates, please let us know.

Cody is 18, so he can run anywhere. Austin is 17, so i believe he would have to be emancipated to compete in a USAC/CRA event.

I say this with great respect for the Williams family. I would like to see John Aden in that ride for a couple of nights. Get well soon Rip!

Wow, I agree. John Aden was hot in that 360 race Friday night. It would be nice to see him run a couple of shows with the USAC/CRA this year.

I too was impressed with Aden's performance Friday night. Thanks to Scott D. for drawing the fan's attention to this young driver. How bad was his flip Saturday night? Someone to watch for in the future for sure.

His flip was epic. I only saw him dropping out the sky at least 15 feet in the air. I crew for Steve Conrad and he was a spot or two behind Aden and he said it was one of he highest airs he had ever seen at Perris. He biked it and just launched.
