Now that Florida "Winternationals" are upon us, I was thinking. What week of the year do you most look forward to as a sprint car fan?
Florida Winternationals -finally after months of inactivity, racing returns!
Ohio Speedweek - All Star style
Knoxville Nationals - not quite a full week, but hey it's the one everyone wants to win
Pa Speedweek - Posse Speedweek. 8 races in 9 days.
Indiana Speedweek - for those who don't like the napkin holders
I wish I could do this as a poll but I'm not sure how. It would be interesting to see what finishes second.

...if you live along the Ohio / Indiana border and are a fan of both traditional and winged sprint cars, you can put together a fun week of both...
7/8 360 Challenge (Eldora)
7/9 Brad Doty Classic (Limaland) or Indiana Speed Week (Lawrenceburg #1)
7/10 Indiana Speed Week (Lawrenceburg #2)
7/11 Indiana Speed Week (Gas City #1) or Knight Before the Kings Royal (Eldora)
7/12 Kings Royal (Eldora) or Indiana Speed Week (Gas City #2)
7/13 Indiana Speed Week (Kokomo)
...to me it's all good, so I love this week...you can get a little of everything, all within 4-5 hours of each other...

Not to be a stickler, but just to clear things up its "Indiana Sprint Week". I'm still trying to figure out how USAC calls it a week when it's a week and a half with a three day layoff.

Australia's speedweek is 6 races in 7 days I think, that's sprintcar racing too, then theres the Outlaws Down Under series as well, that's three nights with all the outlaws and 60+ local 410's.

I'm with CubFan there. duane why you only list 410 events? you should clarify.
I mean man there are several great candidates - the damn near 2 weeks in Florida, ASCS Speedweek, All-Star speedweek, PA's speedweeks (their whole year is like a speedweek), Indiana Speedweek, California has some good ones there, Knoxville from start to finish is awesome. Sprint Bandit is f-n awesome as well - they were among the best races last year. I'm sure in anyone's neck of the wood they have their own mini speedweeks. I'll have a few. The Knoxville 360 races preceded by the All-Star show at Wichita, KS (if they can pull a good field) - and maybe even Osky and whatever else i can get my hands on. Sprint Bandits at OKC then Sapulpa the next night - followed the next night by ASCS Sooner region at OKC and Lawton on consecutive nights - and maybe even squeeze in a ASCS2 (3 classes of mini-sprints) at Ft. Cobb, OK on the Sunday of it all. Those micros put on a great show. I think they are the most underrated racing prob. in the nation. there are many tracks and places that race em - but it still gets little attention. O well - I think it's cool. And in this topic we are hardly even mentioning stand-alone major events. Nationwide - and even just my region alone (or my hometrack for that matter) this is really promising to be an excellent year for sprint car racing (weather permitting of course lol). with gas prices and other stuff it is really suprising to see car counts lookin to go up for the series. ASCS will certainly go up (although it had no where to go but up from 5) - the All-Stars are goin up - WoO looks like it may indeed go up too (suprising). Many others too that may share some of the prosperity. Maybe it could be the local tracks that see the effects of rising prices, but I really hope for the best for all tracks, series, and fans. even at places I may never ever see.
I'm still stuck on hoping the Belleville All-Star show doesn't take away from the 360 Nationals too much. I doubt too many others here share those sentiments. But if Florida was anything to calculate from - there is plenty of sprints and great sprint car racing to go around. BTW could anyone point me in the right direction about how best to go about Osky tickets and maybe even 410 nationals tickets?

Terre Haute has a few races scheduled Chilly W.
Figured we'd never see you out of the state of Iowa anymore though.
Also Winchester has at least one Thursday night race this yr as well. You could catch 4 nights of weekly stuff for that, and maybe more.

Rustin: ISW is the same as last year two races at Larryburg and Gas then single night events at the rest of the tracks. Thur. May 22nd is the scheduled date for the Hulman Classic at Terre Haute. Trying to hit up Stubb to come down since he's never been to THAT.

The MSCS has Twin Cities (North Vernon) on their schedule, but Twin Cities doesn't have the MSCS on their schedule (at least it didn't as of yesterday). Terre Haute has a tentative date for the MSCS and a schedules USAC race.

How far is Gas City from Knoxville? Sounds like I might need to take that week off.

Well depending on how you go, it's between 500 and 560 miles. I drove from Knoxville to Kokomo in about 7 hours. So I'd say about 8 hours depending on your law abiding ability.
