The trip will NOT be racing related...by late spring, early summer I'm going to meet some Colorado relatives in Iowa for some camping. (I'm pulling my camper out from Ohio).
In your opinion...please give me some state or private campgrounds that you really like. Something near a lake would be preferred.
Again...no races involved, so anywhere in the state would be fine.
Thanks!

There is a little pond North of Knoxville where you can hear the racing while being stuck with the relatives

Some of the most spectacular scenery is in NE Iowa near Marquette. Pikes Peak State Park is a great place to stay, but you will have to be happy with a little creek called the Mississippi River (about 3/4 mile wide at that point) instead of a lake.
