Shane Carsons Modified 112 was probably the best modified car around; No matter where he raced it, it was a force to deal with. That is a car that I would like to see be restored. Anybody know the whereabouts of the car.

Let's just say the car exists and is in good hands. I am of the understanding that I am not to say.

Brian, you say you do know were that car is. The reason i ask is there is one close to Joplin ,,we were trying to get more photos to see if it was Carsons or the #112 that ran in Enid driven by Larry Dewell.. The car near Joplin has the little bar that sticks up,, that rans on top from the back to the front of the cage. The car is faded so bad you cant ID names on it but the number is there. The picture i got of Dewells car does not have the bar on top.
Are you talking about the same car as i am that is in the Joplin area. The guy that has it was wanting to know and i was not able to give him a possitive ID on it.The guy that sold it to him said it won alot of races in the OK City area but that could include Enid. I think that Evard Humphrey drove one that was #112 also.I seen your thread here figured you might be able to help use out,,,Tim
Win as if you are use to it.And lose as if you enjoyed
it for a change. Its hard to get to the top and alot
harder to stay there.

The guy that owns the car looks in on this board every day. He knows about this thread, but he has his own reasons for not chiming in here. You have to respect the fact that I am respecting his privacy.

First of all, I am wrong much of the time. I hear one thing here, then another elsewhere. Everybody wants to tell the truth, but the mystery is what it is.
The guy I'm talking about is VERY familiar with the history of Scotts car. He watched it just like many of you back in the day and it has been on his radar since then. He never let it get out of sight from what I can tell. The location is not the same, so I highly doubt the car yall are looking at up there is the Tijuana Taxi.
Still, that car needs to be looked into, the only 112's I know of were driven by notables, meaning it could be a car that needs to be restored back to what it was. Cars like those are tough to get.

This car, and one Steve Foster drove, are the cars that I look at when I set the body on an Edmunds theme car.

This is one of the pictures i have ,The car in the Joplin area is just like it but it has that bar on the top of the cage.Nuff bars are the same. And the number does not look quit the same . We were just trying to ID the car. The guy that has this one has restored several cars. And he likes to put them back like they were when they ran with the driver name with it, and maybe some stuff the car did. ,,but like i was saying he needs to know which car it is. I can usually ID a car from the 60s to mid 70s in the OK area.. I think it is a car that has been changed when somone else got it.
It looks like a car that John Ward from Joplin ran in Tulsa in 1969.But the car was purchased in Ok down in the OK City area. And the guy told him it won alot of races. Do you have a picture of the one that Carson drove so we can rule it out. I dont think it is Evard Humphreys car ether. If i had a pic of Carsons car i could show it to him and help him rule it out.
But somtimes people get cars and they number them like there favorite driver and they race some and then they quit..I remember the Taxi Carson drove but dont have a pic of it.So i could not compare. Just tyring to help a good restoring guy,,he has 8 or so that i know of he has redone or kept in original condtion. And he has has sevaral others that will be redone,,,,,,,,,,Tim

I doubt this will help much, but I think this is it before Scott got it. Mike Monatoboy collection
I'm not trying to be cocky, but this car is accounted for.

Arnold Horner 112 and Dale Reed. I beleive this 112 was owned by Mel Beutler? Don't know if it is the same car as the Corvetter Center 112. I think the 112 of the Corvette Center was owned by Bob Billups?

The Evard Humphrey 112 is on this page. Info on how to order the book High Plains Thunder is on this page also. I don't even know if the book is still in print though.

Thank you Brian and Warren for the photos,i have photos of these cars but i didnt have the #112 Horner thats a big help. And i didnt have the # 10 that you say was #112 Carson later.
Brian like i said we are just trying to illimanate all possibilties.I dont think it is the Carson car.
We may have to get the sweat from the driver that dripped on the cookpit floor and call CSI and have them run a DNA on this thing and find out who the real daddy is.I am sure there has to be some blood and sweat DNA on this car somewhere...HA HA HA Thank You for the Help Guys
If we have to when we get it out were we can get some good photos of it and if we cant figure it out maybe i will put a pic on here and you all can take a crack at it. Tim

I'm pretty sure this was a Jelly car. Bob Billups form Kansas owned it and dad painted it to match the Cor Vett Center van back-in-the-day.

I am not sure of the total,he has a car that my dad Jack Belk won Championships in Joplin in the Modifieds in the early to mid 60s,, it looks just like it came off the track yesterday.. He has another like it Rex Hill drove that he has totaly redone.
He has 2 or 3 cageless sprint cars and midgets that i know of..One of them is redone and looks great. I am not that much up on all he has,, i know he has some that i have not seen . He is a good friend and i try to help when he ask for it. He is a true credit to the rebuiding of old ventage Race Cars and other old cars as well . He also has old Model T type cars as well. Everytime i get to see i dont ask questions because i am to busy looking at whats in front of me especilly when i think i have seen one of the cars before in the past.
And i have seen 4 or 5 Supermods from the 60s and 70s area that he has .but he has not got to rebiulding yet. He is always rebiulding something. ..But man let me tell you he does good work.
He ask me if i could help with info on the #112 car . So he is wanting history on it. I hope to see him in the next week or so. And see if the photos you put on here have helped,, or if i can him him on it. He is a very busy man with his work and his hobbys like myself. He races Legends and is doing very well in them.
It sure is fun when i get to spend time with him walking and looking at his new finds. When i talk to him maybe i can get some pictures of cars he is trying ID and maybe you guys can help.I know it would be fun for you guys so i will see what i can do. TIM

I raced with Scott in high scool and after Viet Nam. If you can post pictures of the car in question I will try and help with what I know about the car. I have herd rumors that the car is in the Tulsa area I would like to see it again. Post those pictures.

I have some good pictures of the car, however there in black and white. Most of my pics come from the Tulsa Speedway programs. Wish I had the forsight then to buy the color pics that they sold.
