The wine country nationals that were to happen this weekend have been cancelled. If you were planning on going don't bother. Further the promoter seems to have skipped town with all pre-entry fees and vendor booth fees. Some of which he charged upwards of $2500 ($250 to me personally). He also wrote a bad check to the Salinas Fair board. See details below from the www.bayareadwarfs.org website.

NEWS FLASH: THE KINGS CITY 'PROMOTER'

Since the Wine Country National was cancelled, a number of people have been trying to determine the whereabouts of the promoter, Roy Sandusky (aka Roy Sandy). There was a mailing address on the registration form (see below) but, as far as I can tell, he never gave a physical address in any of his jumbled messages; only an email address = [email protected]. I did find a phone number which might still be in service = 831/621-4629. Early this afternoon, I called the Salinas Valley Fair Board office in a last ditch effort to locate this guy who duped numerous racers. I had suspicions about him from the very beginning and was not surprised to find out that the fair board had also been cheated. When he made the arrangement to hold dates, he never actually signed an agreement; then asked the fair board to hold his deposit check. When he cancelled the 'event', he called and asked to have his deposit refunded when, in fact, he had given the fair board a rubber check! - insufficient funds. Surprise! As I spoke with the fair board rep on the phone, someone else in the office was talking to the Paso Robles police. The Paso police are looking for this guy and I've been promised an update when he's found.

Latest news: This AM, BAD member (and victim), Ernie Davila, filed a complaint against Roy Sandusky with the Paso Robles Police Department. The PD located the man and he agreed to appear tomorrow morning at 9 AM. Ernie will be in contact with the police and let us know what happens. He encourages other victims to join him in the complaint; can be reached at #######
