Saw Billy Alley is running family 22 again. Anyone know why they have a new team name of SA Racing? He has new website but its under construction.

Don't know for sure, but my guess would be it is abbreviation for Stewart Alley, Billy's Dad.

The SA Racing is Sterling-Alley Racing. Shane Sterling is a guy he met while in the 55 car and became good friends and now teammates. This info came from Billy himself so it is FACT. Look for a few new sponsors coming on board soon. This could be a great year for Billy....get back to where we know he can run...up front.

Good luck to Billy in 2008. I think, though he is missing a key ingredient that helped him win the 2006 championship.

I'm glad Billy is running his own show. It's good that he is out of the 55. It was nothing but a drag for him.
Not to mention that at Tony's business an employee was caught selling meth. I don't know what kind of show they are running, but Billy is too good of a racer to be mixed up with people of that low of caliber.
Hard to fathom that they would go with someone as old of Madsen that left them mid seaon hanging in 2006, then hire him for 2008 when loyalty was already an issue. Not to mention that he was in his mid thirties when he won the Knoxville 410 champion ship.
Billy won Knoxville 410 champions when he was 23. That says it all. The 55 team is just not using their head.
Also heard that they demoted Matt as pit crew chief and hired Sonny from the 11H. How is that a hit for an ego, getting demoted on your own team.
Lets the 22 rock this year and we'll see BIlly out front like he is used too!!!

Well at least you picked a good handle - most of your information is just that, backwards.

Are you aware of every one of your employees actions on their personal time?
I certainly don't and looking at some of the photos on the desks of my co-workers, I really don't want to know.

Man....... I'm sure Billy don't feel this way, at least I hope not. I thought Billy had a year filled with bad luck. Any sprint car driver can tell you that once you get into a slump it's hard to get out of it, and that's what Billy and his team fell into last year. As for Matt, everyone around Knoxville know's Matt know's his stuff! But if I was in his shoes I would probably step aside and let a guy like Sonny be crew Chief the first year on tour... Sonny's been on the tour as many years as Matt is old... I'm sure Matt will be putting the wrench on the stops and bars and doing set up things and Sonny will be doing fuel and running the day to day business side of things. Being the "Crew Chief" is not all it's cracked up to be when your running a 100 nights a year it's like running a major business for minimum wage. Good luck to Billy and the TK Concrete team in 2008....

I do not disagree with your comment. However, it is shown that he was caught selling it out of the shop, place of business on company time. So, you can't say that it was on "personal" time.
In regards to things being backwards, all you have to do is check the racing records and you will see when and how each of the drivers won Knoxville points.
I think Kerry is a hell of a driver, but when you are flipping off the fans that are sitting in the stands, which many of us have seen him do, you have to wonder what kind level of professionalism he has.
I wish both teams the best of luck. However, these issues are often overlooked.

In response to your comment. Non of the information is "backwards". Ask anyone around Pella and it is factual.
I don't know where you are getting your information, but sometimes the truth hurts.

Why don't you keep the personal crap to yourself. Nobody was caught doing anything illegal by the law!

Take it easy on him. How is he to know that nothing illegal ever happens in Pella? Pella is nothing but a squeaky clean "dutch" town where nobody does drugs, drinks or even cusses. I suppose you're gonna string him up for mowing his lawn or washing his car on Sunday? Wipe the mud off your rose colored glasses.

A city law in Knoxville. A Doctor that delivers Dutch Baby's is considered a Dope Pusher.

I usually enjoy reading everyones comments on hoseheads (as most are light hearted & in fun /clean nature) but felt a response to "backwards" comments about our race team & place of business was needed.
Backwards instead of "asking anyone in Pella" you could have called me as my number is listed in the phone book.
We had an employee who started running with the wrong crowd & was using meth. His work suffered, his family life suffered & he has headed down a dead end street.
How did i handle the situation?? I handled it the way i would if it were my own family as i am always here for my employees.
I talked to his family & helped him get into a treatment program in which he successfully completed so he can get his life back together. He is currently off meth & taking life day by day as his biggest challenges lie ahead.
On the racing side of things i wish Billy Alley nothing but the best in the future & he knows that. I will be the first one to call him when he gets his next win. He is a good young race car driver & he is one of the best people you will ever meet. Him & I left on very good terms & will remain friends in the future.
So your comments about our race team & business practises are about as far off as they could be. In the future as muddy says "keep the personal crap off the board" as this site should be a place where people can enjoy getting results & joking around with friends they have met.
Sincerely,
Tony J VerMeer/VerMeer Motorsports #55
