Race Teams - Florida DOT Notice
CAMARGO, IL (January 14,
2008) - The O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions would like to notify
all competitors who are headed to Florida in February that the Florida
Department of Transportation has a new permit that is required for any
truck and trailer combination that is longer then 65 feet. The permit
can be obtained online on the Florida DOT website. The permit carries a
$20 fee. The fine for not having the permit is $1,000. To visit the
Florida DOT Permit website, please go to www.fdotmaint.com/permit. (To
identify the load simply enter "Enclosed Trailer" and check Straight
Truck with Trailer.)
Also, Drivers should
note that mufflers are not required at either North Florida Speedway or
at Volusia Speedway. In addition, for the Florida races only, the new
Hoosier SC compound will not be allowed. The
Hoosier SC12, 15, and/or 25 will be required for these races based on
the 2007 All Star rules. If you have any questions, please contact
