This is a continuation about the old racers in a pasture that started in the forum on the Kenny Riffel #55. You are right about the cars coming from Solomon. He told me the name, but it didn't ring a bell and I didn't remember it either. I think he has about 5-6 cars that came from there. When you were on your run up north, you were very close to them, but in this case, close is a million miles away. When you get to them, you are about a quarter mile from the edge of the earth. They are 12 miles down a dirt road and a half mile out in a pasture. I didn't get a number for the fellow, but am working on that. If he doesn't object, will make plans to visit again and get pictures, and if he agrees, will post his name and number. All up to him. Oh, and for you purists, the seat wasn't made from an acetylene barrel, but from a carbide barrel. You didn't get the acetylene till you dripped water into the carbide.

Me and Tom B. talked to that guy at Norton, KS Vintage Show last fall, he said it had to be dry to get out there. I talked to him again last year, he said he had some info on the 55 car but it was rumors. He told me nothing was for sale maybe trade. We never did make it up there always to wet, than to cold. He said he had more stuff but had not drug it home.Davey Ross was at Norton and said he had been up there, thats about all he said about it.

I got the same feeling when I talked to the guy, that he wasn't in any big hurry to part with anything. And he sure was right about needing to be dry to get there. Even in dry weather, a 4 wheel drive would be nice. Been going to ask you about some wheels I saw up there, on the modified he has. They have 6 small kidney bean shaped holes like a mag or aluminum, but are steel and 6 pin. I have seen these a few times before. I looked at several wheel manufacturers on the net, but everyone I looked at is using D holes or round holes in the center plate. Wondered if you knew who made them, and if they were still available, or something a person would have to look for at swap meets.
