Let's hear who had the most fun at CB this year 2008. Any war stories( within decency) post them and "compare notes". What piqued your interest most at CB, best eating places/brew places, things to see in Tulsa, etc. '08 season already started and You were a part of it!

9 t-shirts, numerous old race car parts, LOTS OF FAJITAS-FRIES-BURGERS-DIET COKE. Finally got to see how good I was against the young'uns on the ratbag game (13:98,Eldora-their setup, but mine is faster). Went to Mike Pogues booth and knew right away I could be engulfed in all the OLD SUPERMODIFIED PICTURES!
The running joke of the week was a sign on the ticket office- "This is not the Home and Garden show".
I am not a big fan of new cars but I will have to say those Midgets were pretty. In person they are a sight to behold.
DON EDMUNDS T-SHIRTS!
The Willinghams from Amarillo brought their Supermodified.
Got Nelson and Tonys autograph.
3-days without a shower!!!!! And then the sights and sounds overwhelmed everyone around me and they didn't notice.
oooooooooonnnnnnnne last little bit. While the guys were looking at the Hooters girls, I was ogling at their wives who had supported them for so many years. I'd like one of those.

Spending my birthday at the CB and I wouldn't want to spend it anywhere else!
My hair being caked with dirt
Meeting people that actually know where your little hole in the ground town is......which is kind of sad
Listening to some of the people that don't have a clue about racing and calling Hines a she all week because they didn't realize it is a guy
The beer and burgers......that's all that has to be said
Not having to drive in 4 inches of ice this year was awesome
Eating Taco Bell at 1 am and the drive thru guy wondering why in the hell I'm out this late

Ever notice people wearing a gas masks? Yep, it's not for the racing fumes buddy it's the lack of showering.

Could this be connected to why I only have to buy 'one' ticket each year?
On Friday I smelled like Irish Spring and MONEY! Sunday of course was a different matter.

Anyone else notice that they moved the Chili Bowl back a week next year? It will be Jan 13-17 so I will finally get to spend MY birthday at the races!

In reading the run down in Speed Sport News on the Chili Bowl it lists next years date as 6-10 .

I wonder who has it right then....I know that 6-10 would be the usual dates, but the sign over the gate where they took tickets had the 13-17 dates on them.
I'm rooting for 13-17.....I always wanted to celebrate my birthday at the races and other than the Slick 50 series once in the early 90's, it has required a passport and expensive plane ticket.

You my friend deserved a better spot in the trade show than you got! I would have liked to have seen your car on the main walkway with all those models handing out brochures. That IMCA mod could have been in the back!

I agree that we could have had a better spot in the trade show, but my buddy let us put the car in the Sunoco booth for free. We were right across from the Hooters booth though... that really sucked. We should have asked Emmett and Lanny if we could have hot lapped it... Maybe next time.

Does anybody know for sure what the dates are then for next year? I realized after we left town that I did not see a sign at the ticket gate.

i would imagine the sign at the entrance would be correct..at least i find it more accurate than a possible typo in speed sport

I believe that 13-17 was announced to the crowd.
