It was an indoor race at Grand Rapids, Mi. TJ Slideways has more on the event.

I have been reading about this on other forums. Is this the same Gerry Olsen that used to race sprints at Wilmot many years ago? If I remember correctly he used to come down from Michigan. Plus I think he used to promote a lot of WOO shows.

According to the link, the guy's last name is OWEN, not Olson. So I'm guessing it is a different guy than Gerry OLson

They've changed the name in the article to "Gerry Owen" since I first looked at it too. I looked at the video and he's called "Gerry Owen" by the reporter. .

Everything in the article said "Olson" last night though. TJ Slideways calls him "Olson" and it's been 12-14 years since I seen him, but it looks to me like the guy that used to promote the "Beertown Showdown", "US Dirt Nationals", Terra Haute weekly, among other things.

Are there no legal ramifications of this punk's actions? I know legally you have to prove he knowingly wrote bad checks, and in this case it would seem fairly easy to prove that, wouldn't it?

People like this have no place in our sport. Anything he ever promotes again should be boycotted by everyone! If anyone shows up to another event he has anything to do with, then they should get what happens to them.

BTW, did he change his name from the past when he screwed everybody, or was it some sort of typo?

Is it just me or does the picture of Gerry O. (yes that is the same shyster the open wheel world all have known and loved over the years) on the channel 13 website link looks eerily like the WWF's Ric Flair ? That is just scary!
