Jonathan Allard set for Australian campaign

By Gary Thomas

Chico, CA – December 26, 2007…After a month ½ off from competition Chico, CA’s Jonathan Allard is just about ready to get back behind the wheel to begin his 2008 racing season as he heads down under to compete in seven nights of sprint car action over the month of January. Jonathan is poised to have a strong season coming off a year that saw 12 overall wins, including a runner-up finish at the Dirt Cup and a victory during a prelim at the Gold Cup Race of Champions in Chico.

During the last couple seasons Jonathan spent most of his time in Australia running at the Brisbane Speedway, but in 2008 he’s set to be in action at the immaculate Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway in Sydney during all of his events down under. In addition to running at TPCR, the 31 year-old driver will also be at the helm of the familiar Williams Motorsports No. 0 during all of his events in Australia. JA will be running alongside a bevy of competitors during the month of racing, including two of the sport’s marquee drivers, Donny Schatz & Steve Kinser.

Jonathan’s first scheduled event at TPCR will be on New Years Day as he takes to the speedway for Round 11 of the track championship series. The special event on January 1 will also feature a fireworks show to help ring in the New Year. A few nights later he’ll be right back in action to kick off the big two-night $50,000 to win Sprint Car International on January 4 & 5. He will also partake in a single night show on January 12 which marks track championship Round 13.

All of this is a lead-up however, to the huge three-night East Coast Pipeline Outlaws Down Under V to be held on January 17, 18 & 19. Jonathan is one of a select number of drivers from the United States that is expected to do battle at ODU V, which includes Schatz, Kinser, Joey Saldana, Jason Meyers, Danny Lasoski, Sammy Swindell, Craig Dollanksy and more. They’ll be doing battle with the best of the best from Australia including Kerry Madsen, Brooke Tatnell, Max Dumesny, Skip Jackson, now California resident Peter Murphy and more.

This means JA won't be at the banquet that is on the 5th of January. Who is going to accept his trophy and check for him?

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!
