Strong field of cars. Great crowd hope that the free admission will pay off in somenew fans. Strong showing for Knoxvlle regulars as some of the top WOO drivers were there. Buddy was DNF but Willamsen and Sheldon were factors. Timms will be a factor everyweek He runs Knoxville As He has been fast at other tracks as well . The 360 also had a nice field and Pro Sprints seem to be stuck at 15+ cars but they have given a start to begineers and I believe they have a title sponser so are good for track. Knoxville provided much better racing than HL as Aaron won from pole with Day chasing with Larson and Rico not a factor and below average crowd. You wont find a better racing two grove track like Knoxville prepared by Dunkins almost everytime.

Yessir! They hit it far more times than they miss it! We were there last weekend, and I know taking rubber was a huge concern. It did Saturday night, but it was with 3 or 4 laps remaining, so doesn't get much better than that! (And I know there were a lot of folks concerned that afternoon that they had put too much water on the track---they know what's up!)

I'd say they hit a homerun last night. The racing was great and a local team beat the touring regulars. Very good for Knoxville!

where any of you surprised that Kofoid didn't put a new power plant in and run the B main...if your towing that far i would think he would want as much data that he could get.

Very surprised. I thought they'd be in the B.

Not at all. There really isn't much "data" in May or June that translates to August. Track is nothing like it will be when the money is on the line. The cost to do 40-45 more circles at full speed not worth it for them I'm assuming.

If the last 2 weeks are any indication of what's to come, The 410 class better have their ducks in a row if Timms continues to run like he is! He's got that track figured out. That 3 way battle between Timms, McCarl & Garretson at the first half of the feature was pretty intense stuff.
And what about TMac getting passed by Brownie and then TMac coming back a couple laps later and passing him back for the lead!!

If that's actually the case then I'd question why they were out there to begin with?

I would say to log laps. Probably figured it wasn't worth working another motor to log some laps.

They're still running Toyota engines right? Seems like they've been fairly reliable, or at least I don't remember them losing engines a bunch last year.

I'm not in their brains, so don't know their thoughts on this. I'm thinking though---just speculating---putting 12 laps on a motor in the B-main, and then 25 laps in the A-main, burning up tires and fueil, to realistically make it back to a $1250 payday for 10th, when not running for points, seems like a losing proposition. They must have determined the cost to finish out the night didn't get them enough "info" to pay for continuing on.

I'm not in their heads either but imo if you take a race car to a race track, participate. Count your pennies before you arrive
