Is he a top five in the country?  If not, whose the top five consistently better than him?

Macri drove a smart race there was some rubber but it appears the drier track its toll on tires. The best moment was Donnys start and was pulling away and a lock in the dash only to have driveline issues. Hoping for more in feature but didnt happen. Buddy car problems twice was unusual. Lot of passing. Gravel being a good interview is going to help his image. Macri is a very good driver and his comment about not being able to run WOO being fortunate for other drivers was classic. The 1A looked good .Lot of things happened in that race and no one wrecked. Slick tracks put on better shows than wide open follow the leader tracks.

The ejection seat kid in the 1a has also been really impressive. I have to say, I didn't expect this type of performance.

Most definitely id say so.   Little doubt Gravel macedo kofoid Rico and macri.   Larson on the 30ish night he comes over from his day job.

I would say so.  I would say top-2 if he decided to run HL and top-4 if he ran full WoO schedule with the opportunity to win either.  I don't think he out runs Gravel, Buddy, and Macedo for a whole season, but the possibility is certainly there.

I'd agree, that I don't think he'll beat out Gravel and Buddy for the year if he ran points.  I think he's comparable to Rico.

I'd agree.

I'm asking, because I don't know, or remember any exact results:  How is Macri's record on bullrings with the WoO and/or HL?  I can recall the big wins and great runs he's had over the past 2 years.  I remember great runs at the 1/2 miles and the tracks in PA.  Without a bunch of research, how has he been on 1/4-3/8 mile tracks?

Not being a smartass, I just don't recall...anyone?

He has won at more different track than I think I can name now. His 9 or ten Outlaw wins have been on six different tracks.I think he has a HL win in Texas. Don't know the size of that track. I think he won a HL race at I34 or whatever it is. He ran the small tracks in micros. He has at least one win in the 410 at path Valley on the 1/4 and usually runs good there. I don't know if he has run with the outlaws on any 1/4 mile tracks.

Thanks for the info.  I was curious.  I see Texas listed as a .4 mile.  I believe I-34 is a .3 or 1/3.  I don't believe he has any wins on anything smaller than Eldora with the Outlaws, but I might (and AI might) be wrong.  wink

Either way, I would love to see Macri run a full season with the Outlaws.  I enjoy watching him run and he seems like a good kid during interviews---always seems to have a good attitude.  I can't speak for what he's really like in person, but that's how he comes off anyways.  Oh, and by the way, he's almost always FAST!

He beat the outlaws at Lincoln last year which is about 3/8 or 4/10th depends on who you ask.

I think the issue is there are some local races that for now at least he really likes to run and dosen't want to give up. Also he has some good local sponcers as well as the family business that benefit from them being a nationally known team as well as running in front of their potenial clients around home. He is 26 I think so there is time.

Not being a smartass at all, thats an excellent question.

Hadn't really thought about that, I've mostly seen him kick ass on  bigger tracks....

& thanks for the straight forward answers!

Lincoln & BAPS are medium size (3/8?) as is B-port (I think). Path Valley is a true bullring & pretty intense for 410s. Husets is small, right?

The other question to complicate it further is: Were these wins against other guys who were used to Pa. 1/2  miles?

Good discussion... I'm a big Macri fan

Good points too. The whole Posse concept, stay at home, make $$, don't have hassle & costs of traveling, kick visitors asses when they show up. Plus he's the one that makes Pa. racing the most interesting

But it would be cool to see him go on the road & whup the Outlaws.... how about Outlaws championship one year & HL the next? wink wink wink

It's just hard to sense sarcasm so I didn't want anyone to think I was implying he couldn't beat the best of the best on the short tracks by asking "can he win on short tracks though?"  wink

It appears he's won on some shorter tracks.  I would be curious to see his winning percentage, and average finish is on tracks .4-.5 mile vs. .25-.375 mile.

I've been watching him since he got into a full size sprints after running micros, and to me it doesn't matter what the size of the track is he's been pretty consistent on any type of track. I don't know how many years he was in a micro but they ran everywhere and they are all 1/4 mile or smaller.
