To nobody in particular,

We only get to enjoy racing the way we want it when we buy the track and make the rules. Until then choose the track you like with the cars you enjoy among the people you like. A few times a year it will be less than anticipated and a few times it will  be better. When it's good tell us about it. When it isn't don't tell us about it. We don't really care you had a bad sprint car event. Many of us don't have a sprint car event to complain about.

My point is, life is life. Live it, adjust, find something to be thankful for, appreciate the investors and volunteers who try to entertain you.

Thanks. I didn't know about the invert draw on A-Main. That adds a BIG element of luck

The whole 200 pts. for TTs & 100 for heats makes it confusing. Seems that the 3 pt. difference in heats vs. 2 in TTs makes heats more important, but then again there are more guys qualifying than in each heat.... gotta do some calculations to figure that out. If there are 30 entries, mid pack is down 30 points. 8 in heats? Mid pack would be down 12...hmmm

I'm convinced that there is no perfect format

There definitely isn't a perfect format.  I personally think the straight up format the WoO uses is in the best spirit of racing, but because there are so many fans of inverts, this format seems to give the best of both worlds.  You unload, and qualify fast, you're going to end up in the show.  Also, there are inverts for all of the fans who enjoy seeing faster cars go 3 rows back and give hope for the cars starting in the first 2 rows who may not have qualified great.

The format is not at all confusing once you get used to it.  We can sit in the stands and figure out the top 8 in points pretty easily.  I do not like the invert draw, and never will, but it really doesn't change the fact that the top 8 cars all found a way to the top 8 in points, and all deserve the chance to start on the front row.  Rarely does Knoxville Saturday night end and we go "wow, he really lucked out on that win"---because if you win Knoxville on Saturday night, you earned it.  You unloaded fast, qualified fast, and ran the feature fast.
