No Rico, Sweet & Reutzel, but I would expect Marks, Peck, & Pursley from High Limit and outsiders Timms, Pittman and Kaleb Johnson. A field of almost 60 is pre entered. The weather looks great for both nights.

We went to our first Outlaw race of the year last night. We left after qualifying. I have tried to not pick sides in the High Limit vs Outlaw discussion. It's clear to me the High Limit roster is far better even with the injuries they suffered. Corey Day and Rico Abreu had the National Open on their schedule. They didn't show and the rest of the Outlaw roster lacks the pop to replace them.
Our last race was High Limit for the Weikert. They had a cool kids zone with autograph sessions and free ice cream pre race. WOO and Williams Grove continue to make little to no extra effort to get people to show. Crowd still looked great. I just wonder how sustainable their product is compared to HL who also moves the program along. It felt like hot laps took forever.
The only thing WOO has going for it is the marquee events. That's what saved IRL. Tuscarora 50 and Weikert are rapidly becoming PA's marquee events if they aren't already. Gravel /Macedo are nice guys but I don't think they connect with fans like some of the HL guys. Having Schatz and Haud in turmoil doesn't help either.

I watched on Dirt Vision. It looked to me like you missed a good race. I don't really care what the guys name is, I watch for the racing. I prefer sprint cars but I have seen some really good Thunder Car & Street Stock races. Last week at Bridgeport the feature got rained out but I saw enough my first time there to want to go back.

You spent $45, watched 56 cars qualify on a racy surface and said "lets leave"? I call BS.

Earlier this year I drove 19 hours straight to a High Limit race, bought a pit pass, walked 9 steps past the front gate and just felt dirty. I couldn't do it. I walked right back out, got in my car and drove 19 hours back home. I wore an adult diaper so I wouldn't have to stop at all.

To be clear, I'm not picking a fight, but I don't get it. You paid $40-$50 to get into a race, then left after qualifying? That doesn't make a lick of sense. You knew who was going to be there, and who wasn't going to be there. But then you decided the driver roster wasn't good enough, so you left? That's kind of like going to the Superbowl, but leaving once you realized the Yankees weren't playing. ( I know.)
For WoO and H-L races, I play a little mind exercise. I go through the driver roster and categorize two levels of drivers. Level #1 is the superstar talent. Level #2 is guys who could pull it off now and then. In tonight's roster, I count 6 drivers in level #1 and 5 drivers in level #2. By my count, that's 11 of the top sprint car racers in the country, at a premier event at a premier race track. I would have forced myself to stay.

I can't imagine going to a race then leaving before the feature then whining about ice cream. I've been going to the Natty Open my whole life basically and never had a bad time regardless of who sanctioned it. Such a dumb post SMH.

sure you did... i mean i would've believed you had you said, we made through heats or bmains and then stating that there was no passing, questionable weather, rude fans, etc. but you went with the old "these drivers aren't good enough for me" and the "hl gives us free ice cream" excuses...

The free ice cream thing is funny. That really had absolutly nothing to do with High Limit or racing at all. That was a Fair activity. If you want to argue that the Fair makes it better ok. But I stiill go to watch who is there and don't fret much about who is not. I do howerver think some under estimate what some of the non Outlaw shows have become. Even locally I know someone who went to Weikert Memorial for the first time this year and said they had no idea what it had become.

we live about a mile and a half from the track so getting there is easy for us. so is leaving. i could have done a better job making sure rico was going to be there in particular.
the crowds looked to be great so i'm clearly in the minority. i just don't think the woo product is where it needs to be right now.

i'll also add...
everyone cherry picked the ice cream part of the kid's zone i mentioned at high limit races. it was that entire area i was complimenting. is anybody else taking kids to these races? things like that can make it a lot easier to get your kids excited about going to the race track. they are appreciated by parents like me.
