I think Schatz has been quite smart all along to not drive his own car as that creates expenses. I admit I know nothing of his personal life but it appears he has been the driver. If course there was the start up time where it was family money but after TSR hired him, I've never seen Schatz Crossroads associated with a sprint car. Perhaps the nieces but that is also a start up ATM. He has had the skill to drive on other people's money. I doubt he will tax himself just to drive full time at his age and after his accomplishments. Even if he goes home to race local I doubt he would put much of his own money into it. I'm not saying he is cheap, I am saying he is smart.

Amen brother. Why on God's green earth would Donny do that to himself at this point in his career? I'd be totally shocked to see a guy who made a great living racing sprint cars, decide to put himself in a position to hemmorhage money. That would be a very odd choice to me.

Donny has said that bringing back the family team is not in the cards because of the nieces. He doesn't want to take anything from them.
