Forecast looks pretty grim for Saturday at Port Royal... does anyone who what their plan is? Race Sunday?

I know that nobody can predict the weather, but maybe someone knows what PR plans to do.... don't want to drive 4-5 hours for a rainout

Port's website shows a rain date for Sunday.

The hourly forecast has the rain over by 3 or 4 Sat and no chance on Sunday so as now it will be run. Even the rain for this evening looks to be breaking up to the west.

Night #1:

  1. Finally Port gets a break with the weather - that was close heavier rain didn't miss by much.....and for the record that small amount of rain had minimal impact on the surface.
  2. Great racing all night - non handicap racing can see a race where in Macri's case he is gone....but great racing throughout the pack.
  3. Not very often you see a dogfight in a heat race - heat race 1 saw the HL point leader take the lead and then get passed on the final lap....outstanding racing....
  4. Not a fan of second divisions but when it is fair week it provides opportunity to go eat more food!
  5. My only personal wish for tonight is either the High Limit production crew or Chase himself so he can be heard once in a while have a mute button! I admire the mans dedication and hard work for the track - just not a fan of his announcing style.
  6. Night #2 can't wait!

I'm coming, God willin' & the creek don't rise

Then Sunday its Nostalgia Drags with East Coast Gassers at Island Speedway in NJ. I'm not interested in modern high tech rocket sleds, but dig those old hotrods!

Is this where we say that the high limit didn't show up by the box score? Great to see the locals kick the butts

With your continual whining about Port, I thought you were saying that a rainout is better than a race

It has not rained enough in Port Royal in a month or more to affect the racing.

Agree.  I looked up the official totals from yesterday.  They got .02" of rain.  That's what I call sprinkles where I'm from.  No way that made any difference at all unless there was a pocket of rain over the track that didn't get recorded...........

I like that it wasn't a High Roller or a Posse winning. I read somewhere the team went there cuz it was the owner has never been there and it was a bucket list track.

Yes, it rained about the amount Egras said it did and that was early in the day. I was there all day.

"it rained on race day"

That sentence could be taken to mean a rainout, or rain before or after the race

You should learn to write more clearly

Ever hear of "context clues"? With your constant whining about Port, its perfectly logical to assume you meant rainout

You say you didn't. I'm not gonna call you a liar or an idiot

Show some respect for your fellow fans

"good racing all night long."???? Heats were pretty much all Follow the leader

I'm glad the rain missed. .02"?  Most water trucks put down 10x that in one pass.  That's about the equivalent of a 10 minute sprinkle.  Hilarious anyone would count that as rain on the track.

Actually the delay was because the start time was listed wrong on line. I know where but am not going to throw anyone under the bus. Yea I know you didn't see it because it was a service you pay for. They didn't want people who saw that coming an hour later and being upset that they missed an hour. Since the weather forecast was good they delayed the start. It was over around 10:30.
