In most cases, no news is usually good news, but I don't think in this instance, that is the case. Also, the new Selinsgrovespeedway.us website that was being used is now gone. Most can read between the lines.

Fans, Drivers, and Employees want ERS promotions gone. If they are still there next season they will be in a big trouble. I for one will not support Selinsgrove Speedway until ERS promotions is gone.

And just who is going to take over after they are gone? The answer is most likely no one. If Heffner and Kreitzer could no longer make a go of it, I don't think too many people could. There's just not enough fans and cars anymore to support all the tracks and schedule in central PA. Even the weekly 410 tracks are struggling with regular shows. At least they are giving an effort. IMO the only way the place survives is if someone with a whole lot of money wants to keep it a race track.

Alan Kreitzer got out 2 years before Heffner, Inch, and others. Not a good sign.
Sadly, I would offer that if Alan Kreitzer can't make a go of it, nobody can.
Hope I'm wrong

Heffner and Inch never wanted to get out of Selinsgrove. They were pushed out by the fairboard. Heffner actually offered to buy Selinsgrove but the fairboard refused.

This is 100% true. The president of the fairboard looked me right in the eyes and told me this at the very first ERS event spring of 23.
the fair board president looked at me and said he felt Hefner would just end up selling the speedway and it would no longer be a racetrack.
I was 100% disappointed with Lincoln scheduling over the Nace memorial 2023 and upset with Mike because of the event and who was being honored - but the Hookies/fairboard is the common denominator in all issues over the last 15 years.
they made it impossible on the the previous promotional team. This fairboard makes the pre 2011 juniata county fair board look like choir boys.

Does anyone think the track would be way better off today if they had stuck with the 358's.

The only way Selinsgrove Speedway is still around 15 to 20 years from now is if DH&L and the fairboard sell. Otherwise the track will be closed within 2 years.

There's just not enough of them to support another track on Saturdays. They tried 360s for a while but there's even less of them now. I agree with other posters that say the fair board needs to sell it that's the only way it survives.

You seem to be one of the few on here with credible info most times and I appreciate that. I worry about the track being sold and then resold for something else. I don't undestand the decisions of the fairboard, they've had some decent promoters over the years and crapped on them imo. I love that speedway but I think its time that they use the facilities for other purposes than racing, maybe concerts, monster trucks.etc.. Maybe run one or two races a month as special events. I often wonder if the other Grove would be better off being a multi purpose facility too?

Since things are uncertain for Selinsgrove Speedway in 2025. I was thinking that PA Speedweek will have to look for another track to host the Speedweek Finale. IMO Clinton County speedway would be the perfect track to take place of Selinsgrove for the Speedweek finale.

I know the promoter at CC wants a speed week date and has asked about it.

Latest rumor is Donnie and Paula Shick as next years promoters with help from former promoters Charlie Page and Tedd Reitz. Time will tell. That would certainly be good for LM fans.

Hope that's true Paige and Reitz have been there before with Paige having a good run as promoter.

Charlie was a small part of ERS promotions. He drove pace truck and helped out at the speedway.

On paper this looks a little better then ERS. Schick has a business and actually knows what he's doing. If this is true interested in seeing what they schedule would look like. I would assume a lot of Late Model shows with maybe 5 or 10 410 shows.

I believe a specials only schedule can work the question is what night of the week will work. Central Pa has too many 410 races as it is so fitting in a schedule that doesn't conflict with other big shows will be a challenge. Late models, modifieds and 410s specials can work there imo just need a schedule that works.

I still think it would work very well if Selinsgrove ran Friday nights and ran a similar schedule as Port Royal. Alternating the Limited Late Models and 305's. A seperate dual track point series for all classes would really be a big help if they could pull that off too.

Not sure if that would work Clinton county runs the same two classes on alternating Fridays now so you would be drawing from the same fans and teams. Cooperation between the tracks would almost be a must though for anything to work.
