I am a huge Jacob Allen fan, but it has been disappointing to watch him over the last couple of months. I cannot figure his racing operation out. He is one of only 2 drivers to finish top 10 (Haud the other) in the KIngs Royal and the Knoxville Nationals, but anything else he just can't get out of his own way. It just seems there is no fire in him, he is distracted, or something else. Early in the year he was competitive, confident, and had a fire to him. He has dropped all the way to 15th in the HL point standings. If he makes a race, it seems it is good enough and just pulls off. Tonight qualified 5th. Went backwards in his heat and was not even competitive. Started up front of Bmain and went straight backwards. Not even competitive. It just seemed to me he was afraid, and has been, to be aggressive and run the highside. He just lives and dies by the bottom. Tonight was perfect example. I know his wife and him are expecting, but I think it has to be something else. Does anybody else have any inside info, feel the same way, or am I just a sour fan.

Not trying to be an ass, but there's nothing different about his results than what his career average is. He's pretty much the same as he's always been. I would say nothings up. JMO

I just think this is what he is and that's ok. You have to remember he didn't grow up in Pa like Logan did so he didn't have the experience from a young age like Logan had. He's never been consistent but has had some hot streaks. He's still young and still has room to improve. Hell Logan hasn't been real consistent this year either.

I predict 1a and 1s are on the same tour next year, whichever one sponsors want to be associated with. Maybe1a just goes away, the road isn't for everyone.

Jacob excels on a certain type of track where the bottom is tricky but fast if you can hit it right. If it's rip the lip on the cushion, he's going to struggle. It seems more times than not, the surfaces are the more to the latter. Imagine that is one of the primary drivers for his results.

Probably only run their Big cubic inch motor at races they won't win but pays well to run near the front and not get teched.

I don't know you, you don't know me. But I gotta admit, that's about the dumbest thing I've heard in quite a while. I can't tell if you're being serious or not. Do you really think any sprint car team racing at that level does that? Think about it; the logic is missing from that theory.
Do the WoO and H-L regularly check cubic inches on motors?

Jacob may have fallen harder but there are others that aren't fairing as well this year, too.
Marks didn't make the A last night. When was the last time that happened?
Peck - faster lately, I think, but ........
Still think the world was a better place when there was the WoO, HL with midweek shows only, the All Stars, and true outlaws

I guess I don't know what "fallen harder" means. He went years before finally winning on the WoO tour, and since then, has only shown a flash here and there. I'm not sure where he's fallen from. His move seems pretty lateral to me. Same Jacob Allen I always remember since he started running nationwide.

thats a great point and spot on. chico is the hottest bullring on the left coast by far. talk to corey day about that, the18 year old two time winner, consecutively. he was living on the lip most of the 40 lap show...
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..
Life is good...

After watching him tonight, I don't think he has any fire left at all. On restart of B-main, he drove straight to the bottom and refused to get off of it. It was obvious the high side has been faster all night and he did not even attempt it at all. It is almost as if the bottom isnt there, oh well.

I was watching a Dale Jr interview once and he said (more or less) "that everyone is fast until they hit something very hard" Could this be the case with Jacob? Did he have a really violent crash on the top side? It is going to be hard to be a professional dirt track racer when you don't run the cushion.

Obviously I was joking, I mean who ever hears of a racer cheating?

Honestly he seems fried whenever I see his interviews. Not sure if he dabbles in the devils lettuce but seems higher than a kite and super unmotivated in every interview.

I seriously doubt it. He strikes me as a laid-back country boy in his mannerisms and that's all. He's got a new wife and I think a baby on the way. That changes a man. Maybe the risk is starting to become less acceptable to him? However, as others have said, this isn't really that far outside his historical performance.

Fair enough. I met Jacob and Logan about 10 years ago at a local event. They both seemed pretty cool and laid back.

The difference I have noticed the last part of the year compared to the beginning of the year is he just does not seem to want to compete. But he finished top 10 at the Kings Royal and the Knoxville Nationals. Had a car that may have won the Joker's Jackpot had it not been for a mag box going out after a red flag. Was running 5th at the time. Baby on the way may be changing his tune.
