Whats the deal with the Gold Cup race?
Why are several drivers driving different cars than usual?

Tonight (Wednesday) is a 360 race which has no bearing on the 410 event happening the next 3 nights. High Limit drivers taking advantage of an off night to race. Gold Cup appears to be becoming a week-long event with lots of off-track stuff happening plus the racing.

Justin Sanders showed himself tonight. Looks like he's okay with crashing Kyle Larson out for the win using exactly the same move he's STILL crying about Corey Day using on him at Hanford last Friday. Based on how much he was crying about being a victim of Corey's move-including in a post-race feature on Flo, I was figuring Justin was gonna man-up in victory lane and apologize for the "racin' deal" with Kyle, but nope... just doubles down with the whining about two pedals in the car.

I don't know. First time I saw it, it looked like he drove into Kyle. On replay, look like Kyle moved slightly into him
So I'll settle for "racing deal"..... 2 guys going for the same lane
But that seems to be the only way anybody's gonna beat him lately

Really interesting deal, Larson drove in, hit a lapper and hopped the front end up the track as Sanders was sliding to the bottom. Sanders actually nosed out to a halfish car length lead, but both he and Larson kept it buried and with Larson hitting the exit of two got a run leading to contact.
Hard not to call it a racing deal. The ruthless aggression shown by the CA guys has and will continue to lead to these situations. I think you'll see a lot of it this weekend.

Ca sprint cars are the new Usac midget racing. Loads of talent but a little wild.

Day has been taking out cars all year. He's way too aggressive. And taking out a car at Chico is a whole different ballgame than taking one out at Hanford.

57 got all the breaks again! Second car out to to time, pole of the dash. He finally ran out of luck and a bit of talent. 4 was ahead and I'm pretty sure 57 is fitted with brakes like the other cars.

He's so lucky. Remember all of those front row starts he had at I-55 and Oskaloosa? Dude never has to work for a win................

Agreed that 57 is fitted with brakes like all the other cars...even the car Sanders was driving at Hanford.

I'm a Larson fan first and foremost. I didn't see anything other than a racing deal. Not sure how Kyle felt about it?

:-) winner - winner chicken dinner.....although i had to read it 2 or 3 times to catch your drift :-)
to win almost anywhere in a 410 sprint car today - one must have a little luck......
the age old adage of luck is: when PREPARATION meets opportunity......
your honor i give you the following video evidence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svXANVENflA
in closing arguement your honor -even though the I-55 speedway video is pretty convincing - I'll close with the fact that on Saturday, August 10, 2024 the aforementioned defendent started on the pole of the knoxville nationals..... and that is not luck of the draw award by any stretch of the imagination....as it is achieved by being the fastest you can be every time you are on the track!
Although i'm cheering for some other teams to get some of the big money - i can say that i love when the defendent is in the house.

Correct. Too many people think Saturday night at the Knoxville Nationals is the race. The race started Wednesday. You only get those positions by being fast every single time you hit the track. Advancing spots starts the second you hit the track for qualifying, and does not end until 11:00 on Saturday night! Starting on the pole was nothing more than a continuation of the race he was in since his qualifying night.

I think you also have to consider the race tracks they race on as well. They require an aggressive driving style on bullrings that tend to have big curb cushions. I have watched several races on the live streams and I have come to the conclusion you are going to see alot of stuff getting tore up.
