With the Dirt Cup becoming a High Limit event, it looks like FRC is the biggest non sanctioned event left in sprint car racing. Pretty awesome of TMAC and team to continue to pull this off.

Dirt Cup is a NARC sanctioned event, but yeah it might be. FRC being only a 1 night show is also impressive.

The Kevin Gobrecht Memorial at Lincoln Speedway during PA Speedweek paid $25k to win. The Jim Kline Tribute Race at Port Royal Speedway paid $22k to win (but was originally only a $5k to win show).

Who remembers when it was "the front row challenge"? Take the 50k challenge from the front row, start at the back. Saw haud win it on 2002 and what a challenge to win from the back of the field...
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..
Life is good...

Haud won in 99. Tyler Walker won in 2002.
I'd love to see a way to bring it back, but I'd be shocked in anyone could do it under the current racing conditions. Even Larson I think would need some yellows or help to make it through in 25 laps on a half mile that's usually pretty hooked up.

The field is also MUCH stouter than it was back then. The best way to do that would be to give the guy extra money for each position advanced even if he doesn't win.

Time for my annual, controversial 'Tyler Walker - what a dam shame' post.

I just saw a YouTube video of one of his driving arrests - very sad!

I saw it several times when they still had the actual "Challenge", but nobody took them up on the offer. Thats why they dropped it....
