Serious question. My old man is getting slower every year. The walk up the steps to the top of backstretch seats is going to be enough this year. I was wondering if anyone reading this parties, parks, or drives down Larson avenue to the backstretch entrance during the nationals with their golf cart. My old man could really use a ride. We park at this house on the corner of Larson a few blocks down from the main drag. I know there are a lot of golf carts and other that use that street to zip up to the backstretch. LMK.

Have you considered just stopping and letting him out there at the track? We've done that for my cousin the last few years. He uses a cane for balance issues. We get there early, drop him off with his grandson, and I go park the car.

Its little more than that. We park on this house's lawn and sit in chairs until closer to race time. Once we are parked, you cant really get out and come back and re-park. We get boxed in.

This is Iowa! During the summer at my in-laws the golf cart is the primary mode of transportation around town. Traffic is slow in Knoxville during Nationals so golf carts don't really interrupt it at all. They may even make it better in their own ways.

Shouldn't you be hanging out with your Menza buddies. Obviously you've never been to Knoxville during the Nationals so stop injecting your superior wisdom into things you know nothing about.

Rather than argue about who's smart and who isn't smart why don't we do this by evidence based facts? I'm not sure if anyone can answer this officially, but how many people have been killed or seriously injured in golf cart accidents at Knoxville? I've never heard of anything happening during the years I've been going there, but may someone knows the official number...

Yeah when the Louie was running up in Calistoga they would bring in 100 or so golf carts and rent them out for the weekend. It was like golf cart city haha they were everywhere. fun times. Mid day Suzi's run's were a blast!
We all did are very best to be safe and not blow it so they wouldn't stop.
Ended up having them all 11 years , and looking forward to it starting back up next year...

Wow that is rich lol. Many people will be enjoying their lives riding golf carts and having a good time while you'll be bitching about something you have no idea about. Give it up clown lol.

You know what, for a guy who seems to think he knows everything you sure are ignorant sometimes. Then when you're rightfully called out for your arrogant know it all attitude you always go straight to insulting others intellgence, all without ever providing a shred of evidence to back up your inane comments. In short, you're nothing more than a male Karen, a pot stirring trouble maker that never really has anything positive to add to a thread or conversation....
Here are the facts :
You cannot drive golf carts legally on public roads in Delaware, Hawaii, Maryland, Missouri, or Rhode Island. New York takes it a step further by explaining that you could be arrested for operating a golf cart on public roads or sidewalks or in parking lots. Good old New York a bastion of freedom...
All other states allow the use of golf carts on public roads, but there are restrictions on usage that vary by state. Some laws specify the use of golf carts, while others call them “low-speed vehicles” (LSVs).
The carts themselves also must be legal and meet all local, state, and federal requirements. On a federal level, they must have a vehicle identification number (VIN), lighted license plate, horn, and speedometer. They also must have working headlights, brake lights, and turn signals. And they should have interior and exterior mounted mirrors, along with tires, seat belts, and windshield wipers, approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
They also must be able to travel at least 20 mph but not over 25 mph on roads. The idea behind these speeds is that the vehicle should be able to go just fast enough not to interfere with regular traffic. But if it were to go faster, more safety regulations would be needed.
The older I get the faster I was

Thanks Sprinter for breaking it down for PeteP. At this point I hope he is just trying to rile people up and isnt this way in real everyday life. Imagine if he came to Knoxville and saw Sprint Cars pushed down the street.

I read a quote the other day on the ol' internets that said "When the debate is lost, insults become the loser's tool". I thought of you, and how you've now become both a loser and a tool on Hoseheads.
