Holy Crap! At Lernerville tonight, what was he thinking? I think James is a very talented driver and have pulled for him for the last few years, but tonight was a dismal display. He takes out Tim Shaffer in heat #1 and then takes out Tyler Courtney in the A Main. Good thing they recognized the Australian Baseball team that is in town for a tournament, before the race. They would not have been received very well after his performance. Time for James to start realizing there are other cars on the track. Good thing he was unable to return after taking out Courtney.....or maybe the team said that is enough carnage dished out for one night!

Seemed like they were upset they wouldn't be pushed off after the caution lights went out, so I know they didn't say enough. That said, has he had any issues like this during the season? I would just chalk it up to a bad night unless anyone sees a pattern. (and it definitely was a bad night)

He's from Down Under and while I love to hang out with Aussies at the track, let's face it, their sprint car driving aggression levels tend to range from "pissed off teenager stealing the parent's car keys" to "a wolverine on angel dust".
That being said, the one on Courtney just seemed like hard racing for the same real estate. Admittedly I was sitting on my couch, so who the hell am I? But Courtney looked like he had a split second to make a choice, turn under or drive around. He chose the latter.

I agree he took out Shaffer. However the Courtney deal was as much Tyler's fault as it was James fault. Just racing deal!
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

Not to excuse it, because it was one of the worst nights a driver has had in a while, but McFadden is likely under a ridiculous amount of pressure to perform from Roth. That car generally goes through drivers all the time so I'm sure the seat is always hot.

he stated during the interview at Eldora that the "agressive style of their racing is brought to the states"! Maybe a little too much like you said!
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Roth has the better of the two, Koifoid, more consistently and up front most of the time Koifoid is running a Toyota motor and Mc Fadden runing a Ford. Maybe part of the issue ya think?

Courtney Deal was just a basic clean slow motion slider where you have to recognize your slid and lift. As someone who has raced for 17 years it always looks different in the car. People that have never raced dont realized how hard it is to see on a heavy track getting sprayed with tacky mud. 83 could have sprayed him as he slid across and he just hadnt pulled tearoff yet. It just happens. I would not call that a takeout if anything more on 7 just becaise of how slow and easy of a slider it was and he had him mostly cleared

Yeah Tyler raced wingless sprints for years where there are pass attempts like that almost every lap. Like he said in that interview, "it's racing".

You said it. I've stated before I cannot believe Roth stuck with him when he's let go of drivers with much more success in the past!

I haven't seen the Shaffer deal but the courtney deal is a non issue. It wasnt a bad slider or dirty move in anyway.

Agreed. He had him cleared and Tyler chose not to lift.

I played rugby in college and was fortunate enough to play against a few international teams. The most terrifying noises a competitior in american rugby will ever hear is the Haka from New Z or the Aussies anthem. My East Carolina Pirates would just look at each other mumble Argghh.. We knew our ship was going to sink quick that day, and we were just praying we could make it to land.
So I understand JMac's aggressiveness to go to the front at Lernerville as quickly as possible in front of his native baseball team. They are a very peaceful yet aggressive people.

And Sweet drives right into the rear of Scelzi but no comments. Seems like very similar events.
Even though I may not know you, I

James has been on both ends of the deal this year and he handled both with class. He apologized about the Shaffer deal during the spin the wheel thing and imo the Courtney mishap was just racing.
