PeteP, you're doing that thing again. Whether consciously or unconsciously, you're picking a fight over something inconsequential just for the hell of it. Looking at your last dozen or so posts, can't you find anything good to say about the sport?

Not really. Pete is like the other who shall not be named. They are most definitely the smartest guys here, just ask them. Track prep, streaming, internet capabilities, and "excellent" probing questions meant to provoke response..... they're incredibly versatile in their breadth and depth of knowledge.
This has been classic Pete. Ask a question or make a claim... get rebuked, but still continue on being pedantic about one super specific detail pertaining to one super specific situation.

Several B Mains... or the Alphabet?
I literally just watched a billion B Mains tonights.
None of them were fun to watch.
Real E, D, C mains would be fun to watch though.

To answer Brandon's question.... personally I like an "alphabet soup" style as well. I'm not opposed to multiple B's, but simply prefer the "D, C, B" setup.

In my opinion, Alphabet for me. I'm not a fan of the 2 Bs and only taking 2 from each myself. 24 cars in A plus provisional/s due to loyalty to a track or series is fine with me also.

I'm still waiting for Pete P's facts and actual numbers to show where adding more cars to the A main will not add to the tracks expenses.

I prefer the alphabet. And don't put 18-20 cars in the B Main and then have it only 12 laps. Rather have more 'mains'
with fewer cars for less laps. There's usually less wrecks then. Then have a B Main with 14-16 cars for 15-20 laps. This
might take a little more time but get rid of support classes to save some. Pet peeve: get rid of the dashes, I don't like them.
IMO.

Seriously , where did you post your facts and figures of how adding more cars to an A main does not add to the expense? I'd really like to read it.

I'm not near as smart as Pete but do B-main cars just get tow money? I didn't look at the rule book but my understanding was that usually if 4 cars transfer to the A, the top four wouldn't get anything for racing the B but fifth place on back finishers in the B would get some kind of purse money, maybe that's not how they do it there? If that were the case couldn't you pay the people who finish 25th on back in the A main the same as you would pay them if they finished fifth on back in the B?
Also I don't know if this is correct or not but I thought when the provisional thing came out in the outlaws that if they took a provisional to get in the A-main they would get the points where ever they finished but would only get tow money and not the purse money for where they actually finished? Was this correct? Does anyone remember? It seems like I remember someone taking a provisional to get into the Knoxville Nationals and I wondered what would happen if they won. I remember thinking that it would be kind of funny to see someone win a $100,000 to win race but only get $500 or $1,000 because they took a provisional.
Again I don't have any facts but it's just a question. Please don't lump me in with Pete lol.

What makes me chuckle about Pete is he asks for "experts" or "facts" and when he gets them he still chooses to argue about it. BUT, he claims to be an engineer so apparantly that makes him an expert at everything? This guy has literally done almost everything. I missed it was he a doctor too?

Is there anything that you aren't amazing at? Do you teach people to tie shoes?
