I would agree with the overall sentiment but snubbing infers that HL as an entity is deserving of recognition, which I'm not sure I can agree with.
HL drivers winning Outlaw races will definitely help fortify the HL brand, but it's not the Outlaws responsibility to make their fanbase aware of that.
|
I don't think they are going to have to worry about the HL fanbase because they are not going to let the outlaws forget it when they win. You are correct, it is not the outlaws responsibility to acknowledge them, but HL sure the hell is not going to let them ignore them either. Nor should they.

I already said its nobody's responsibility to promote the other franchise, but failure to do so might indicate the WoO is running scared. HL comes off as "the bigger person", more self confident
That said, I'm not on either side. HL has done better than I expected, might have the better lineup

LfreakinOL...Pretty sure my response was not to you but to someone that understands sarcasm. I'll try to make that more obvious for you next time. But by all means keep jumping into stuff you don't quite understand, that's how we learn.
|
I know... your response was to this post by lpjazz. I don't see what bugs you so much about it:
"Using a quote by Ric Flair who was involved in a form of the entertainment industry thought to be a sport and furthermore fixed the outcomes, will not justify anything.
Not sure how things will progress with the Outlaws or High Limit, but these things are currently happening:
- More races
- More higher paying races
- More teams, drivers, and crew being employed
- More sarisfied fans
You may agree or disagree with the above, but the 1st 3 are pretty accurate.
Some may argue that the quality of fields may be dilluted, but look at it from this standpoint. When the Outlaws and All-Stars existed, I associated the Outlaws as the major leagues and the All-Stars more of the minor leagues, a stepping stone to the outlaws. This goes back to the past 30 or so years. Now you have the Outlaws and High Limit and while you may by right looking at the Outlaws as diluted somewhat, it has produced a higher level in the High Limit Series that is above the former All-Stars. Given time, we may see both sanctioning bodies elevate their rosters with an equal number and depth of talent on e possessed by just the Outlaws. Plus we now have seen growth in the Fast Series. I'm just going to sit back an enjoy. Not my business to take a side or question a driver or teams decision on which series to follow. They are the one's that front the finances! Just enjoy the many opportunities out there!
What was so bad about that? Be specific...

You are way more F***ed up than I thought but somewhat fun. What makes you think I had issues with lpjazz's post when I replied with non serious sarcasm, I'm pretty sure lpjazz got it. Why do you jump to someones defense that I'm sure don't need you to, maybe jump from an overpass onto a train or something productive. Gee, Mr. wanabe moderator its a good thing I didn't mention anything political, especially against your views. Ric Flair quote "Wooooooooooo"

Sarcasm doesn't translate well over the Internet, with no facial expression or tone of voice
I grew up in NYC, have a good sarcasm detector
You told me this: "maybe jump from an overpass onto a train or something productive"
Is that sarcasm too? Sounds pretty damn hostile to me

I get why the Outlaws won't mention High Limit. It does not do the "You wanted the best..." slogan much good when guys from another series come in and win on their off night.

I dunno. I think the "You wanted the best..." slogan still applies, even if not all the best in that night's lineup are platinum WoO members.

I was concerned about where all the cars were going to come from but am missing both nearby WoO shows including this week to my wife, queen of vacation bookings. Now with all the racing on streaming and fifty car fields all running on the same night I wonder how sustainable this all is. At some point half of those teams are going to realize they're still not making the A Main most nights and seek out other options. I wonder where all the money is coming from to support all of this racing right down to the fans ability to attend more races during a time many refer to as the economy being all doom and gloom. Even the IRA had 50+ and put on arguably some of the best racing of the weekend. This has been a great season to watch televised racing so no complaints that I have that option now.

Some truth there especially when the HL guys are showing up. Currently watching the WoO lm show in Iowa and Garrett Alberson racing there with them. Announcer no issue acknowledging him as "former Lucas Oil rooking of the year." This would not have been the case 15 to 20 years ago. HL will just have to earn their stripes and I believe they will. No one should be offended right now and HL fans should be allowed to boast when they do win against the outlaws just like PA Posse. I am sure they had to earn their stripes as well. The only thing that I believe the outlaws have been petty about is they have pulled Brad Sweet's (I am not a fan of his) likeness (image) from all of his victories. For those that do not know, the outlaws put an image of their winning drivers on the results/racaps page. If their driver doesn't win, it is usually the outlaw logo or the race's logo. I don't know if their is copyright or NIL issue, but his image was pulled from all his wins last year. James Mcfadden and Spencer Bayston's images are still there.

Aren't you "boasting"right now? Nothing is stopping anyone from "boasting". Just seems petty or maybe a need for validation.

No boasting at all. Just trying to prove my point that there is no reason for the HL fans to be getting upset about the outlaws not acknowledging them. HL just needs to keep doing what they are doing and improving their product. This was the case many years ago when the Lucas Oil series came onto the scene. They earned their stripes just like HL will have to do. Racing seems to be in a really good place right now. Two thriving national latemodel tours and two thriving national sprint car tours.

I doubt that the HL or any of their race teams give a hoot . Some drama seekers online see it differently.Hoot, Hoot.

Just spent five minutes scrolling back on WoOSprint.com and Sweet's photo is on his Volusia win earlier this year, a story about him winning the WoO title last year, his win on the Final Night of World Finals, a Williams Grove win Oct. 1, and a Sharon win on September 24.
Every single instance I came across has his photo. I saw zero instances of him winning where it does not show his photo in that time span.
Not sure if you're genuinely mistaken or looking elsewhere or just flat out spewing falsehoods, but the official Outlaw site does not corroborate your claims at all.

Folks need to cut Gibson some slack. He may just be following orders from higher up when he does not mention the High Limit series!

Wow. It must be the PC you are on. When I was at Knoxville a couple weeks ago a guy mentioned it to me how they removed his image. When I got home I checked and there is no image of him there. After reading your post, I checked again on my PC and there is no image. His win at World Finals just has the World Finals emblem they used for the races and none of his other 2023 wins do either. This time I checked the recaps/results for 2022 and they have been removed too. No falsehoods being spread. Are you looking at the recaps/results page? McFadden and Bayston are stilll there. That made me think that there may be just an NIL thing and nothing petty at all. Can anybody else verify what their recaps/results are showing?

The pictures of drivers in results and hyperlinks in points rundowns (past and present) link you to the current platinum members bio page. Past seasons points/results link to those current members also. Even Jason sides who is a current owner no longer has a drivers bio page so his past drivers points listing's and wins no longer link to a page for him. Nothing nefarious, just how the web page works.
