Heck, I'm old enough to remember when it was Teryy McCarl's year whoop on 'em and become the first Iowa native to win the Nationals.

Amazingly, an Iowa driver has never won the Knoxville Nationals. Austin McCarl is the highest-rated Iowa driver in Sprint Car Ratings at number 40.
