When was the last time a car was allowed to enter the track, 6 laps down after not being able to make repairs in the alotted 2 minute limit? I certainly can't remember it happening before.

Any other Joe blow that would have pushed off 6 laps down would have been black flagged and disqualified from the event. I want to know who pushed Gravel off, was it an actual official or did Cody go find a push truck driver to make them push him off. Maybe he threatened a push truck drivers life like when he talked to Kofoid a few weeks ago.

I have never seen it before that I can recall. Can't see what the benefit of it would be unless other top points cars were to drop out of the race with more than 6 laps to go then he may gain a couple of points?? But like you said, "Is it even in the rules that you can do that? To my understanding when the flag goes green again, unless there is a yellow or red, after that 1st completed lap you are done for the night.

Legit, not BS:
Under the heading "Racing" in the WoO Sprint Car rule book:
j. Any cars going to the work area and re-entering the race together will be positioned in the order of their last scored lap at the rear of the field behind cars that are on the same lap as they are. If a restart green flag is displayed and followed by a yellow or red flag before a lap is scored, then any car(s) that remained in the work area can re-enter the race but will be positioned behind any same lap car that took the aforementioned restart green flag. If a car remains in the work area it can re-enter during any ensuing race stoppage, lining up behind any cars that are on the same lap as said car that is re-entering.
It's located in the same book that describes how cars will be inpected and scaled at different point throughout the racing program, and after. Apparently, unlike some other national sprint car series.
Thanx,
Bruce

Saw it happen at Charlotte a few years ago when the tire issue happened. I Schuchart may have won it but you essentially had all but maybe 3-4 guys shred right rears. A number of guys came back out since they were only 1 or 2 laps down and their were several others on the same lap. I don't think there is anything that says you cannot re-enter the track but 99% of the time it does not make sense for anyone except may 1-3 guys. The risk of anyone going out 3-6 laps down just to move up 1 or 2 spots probably makes no sense but if you are trying to win a championship every point counts. That is why when everyone cries about how they do not understand how the points work because 1 guy has X amount of wins but another guy is ahead of them with 4less than them but is 50pts ahead. Little things like this that do not show up on the stat sheet.

I have thought that once the yellow light went out a car in the work area was not allowed back out unless there was another yellow or red on the restart. Sure seems like that has been the practice for as long as I can remember, but then we are talking about golden boy Gravel in this case. WoW has always stretched the rules for their front runners.

No accusations either way. I have been following sprint cars for well over 50 years and I honestly don't recall any series allowing cars to re-enter the race even one lap down.

Me either. Don't know about the outlaws but most tracks won't let you back out if you are 2 laps or more down.
