15 second laps in warm-ups = a great feature tonight.  Courtney started 10th. Great track all night long!

Track changed a lot from the start of the feature to the end that is all you can ask for as a fan.  Keep the crews and drivers guessing on what the track will do.

Awesome Late model feature tonight as well.

Yes the reason is water/moisture in the track surface!  Simple as that.

I'm a fan of Courtney and the Clausen-Marshall team and and was pleased , but not surprised, to see how well they ran last night at Port Royal.  They got in some valuable practice and $5K to get ready for next weekend's HL show there for $75K.  That was after what is about a 10 hour drive from Utica-Rome the night before. Was greatly disappointed in HL at Utica and was one of the more boring races I've watched all year while Royal continues to impress with both the Sprints and Late Models.  Always great fields and good racing.  Terrific purses tend to do that and boo to the tracks that haven't figured that out.

10 hour drive? Did they stuck in massive traffic? UR to Port is less than 5 hours normally.

25 admission was way too much for basically a regular show.

This has to be one of your top 5 stupidest things to come out of your brain and type out. I say Bravo! You have actually lowered the bar even further to the point I think it's undergound and can't be recovered.

I'm on the left coast and not very familiar with N.Y. state other than the western part.  Just was echoing what Tony Laporte, the HL announcer, said the night before at UR.

Give the guy a break. Many people have said he should start his own post about Port Royal and not just hijack every other post under the sun. Give him credit for learning how to start a thread- one that sings the praises of Port Royal!

So let's not hijack the thread into one simply about B Stawser's shortcomings. Anybody else remember your folks stopping at A&W and getting root beer in a cardboard pyramid sort of carton?

Don't remember my area having any A&W's but there was some cool drive-ins. As for Strawser it's getting to be like yelling at a kid in a wheelchair. You do it then you feel bad about it.

Spent a season and 1/2 in the late '60s in Fort Wayne when I traveled for a huge construction company.  Rented a mobile in a park and worked on my old hardtop in a vacant spot.  Understanding park management as long as I didn't use the big hammers or the arc welder at midnight.  You Hoosiers know what the summers are like and I was fortunate to have an A&W right across the street.  Could only drink so much beer before falling asleep under the car and the refillable gallon glass jugs were my main go to.  Drank countless jugs of root beer while there and still love the stuff although it's not as available out here on the left coast.

No credit given.  His post was kinda like walking up to your next-door neighbor, smiling, and giving her a free one-year subscription to Jenny Craig.  From one perspective, it looks like a nice gesture.  From another angle, it's pretty obvious what the intent is.  So yes, he said something nice.  Then, he hijacked his own post and started complaining about the track, admission costs, and everyone dumber than he is for going.  He even hijacks his own threads!   wink

There was a lot of stupid people there last night. I also bet a lot stupid people in other areas of the country would jump on a show like it for $25. Now these numbers are from my memory and I am sure I will be corrected. But I think 34- 410's $5,000 to win, 36 super late models $5,000 to win and 18 or 20 limited lates  I think they pay 1,000 or 1200 to win. The show started at 7 and over before 11 with a long delay for an injured driver.

LMFAO that anyone could think $25 is too much for a good sprint car show! Great entertainment for your dollar.  Our track was $12 in 1995 for a fender show.  These are the same people that think they should have $2 gas from the time they get their driver's license until they retire......................

I'd happily pay $25 for a weekly 410 show anywhere in my area.   Oh wait a minute, there is no 410 racing within 500 miles of where I live...

Same here..............not quite 500 miles, but far enough that I wouldn't complain if it were available to me!!!

This is why fans here in Pa are sometimes looked at as spoiled and not appreciative of how good we have it here. This guy couldn't find anything to complain about so he goes on to rant about the admission and says everyone is stupid except him of course for attending.

I hate to stand with wingedstrawser but $25 is too much for a regular show. And the stands being pretty empty support that. I applaud Port for paying great purses but I doubt the LMs really add much to the front gate with that much of a purse. maybe they make up for it with the backgate idk.

I think if you're regularly having to charge $25 weekly your costs are too high, sad but true.

It was a special for the SLM's (spring championship) with an increased purse so 2 premier divisions each paying 5G to win - both with great fields of cars. $25 is certainly reasonable. A regular show is usually $20 which is also reasonable. It's 2024, not 1994. The stands were definitely not empty. 50-50 was what? $1800?
