Last night the best racing was the Outlaws.  The track in NY for HL was a slick half mile and I preferred the shorter track in this case.  Actually I do that every weekend, see which tracks everyone is racing at and pick the one that looks best.  Knoxville wins out on a lot of Saturday nights over all the other options.  I'm not watching any track or series to the exclusion of everything else.  TV watching is great, getting motivated to travel solo to races has been more difficult.  I make plans, calculate that it's going to cost me a few hundred bucks when the same race is on TV.

I'm a year older than you, but haven't been doing it as long. The travel is starting to get to me physically too, but this trip has been fun so far because of the beautiful scenery.

At this point in my life, time is more valuable than $$, which is why I flew to Ohio for "Lets Race 2", which was terrific. Still gonna make the trek to Pa. a few times this summer, 4-5 hrs. depending on which track, also nice scenery

I live 30 miles away from Outlaw. That place is a shit hole. A friend of mine described it perfect, a toilet. The dust was so bad you could not see the cars as the dust was so thick. I will take the 170 mile trip to Port Royal any day.

They could run with that toilet theme and host the High Limit Flush.

My wife and I are chipping away at paying in advance for a Hawaii trip right after the first of the year.  She doesn't like racing and won't go on racing trips.  She says I should go by myself or hook up with my son but he needs to concentrate on paying for graduations and weddings.  If I go with him it's going to cost me double.  I have the money to go on racing trips but every race I could go to alone is on television.  If I had a travel partner there is no question that I'd go to some races.

I'm dealing with an illness called WM and it causes fatigue so if I try to drive the five hours to Husets to watch my neighbor in the 410's I'd probably fall asleep at some rest area and wake up after the race is over.  Attending races became an uphill battle that I haven't figured out how to navigate at this age so I watch from the man cave.
