Shall we all join together and brainstorm to help David Gravel find a new occupation since he cant handle/ deal with/ cope with/ the/a/ slide job, something that goes along with sprint car racing and is a part of it. When you think sprint car racing slide jobs are one of the first things that come to mind. If your scared when you see it coming lift and get away from it. If your a sprint car racer and want to race ( without being a crybaby) turn under and give it back in the next corner. Gravel is going to win the points handily its a shame hes going to cry all year. Last nite was completely in front of him he should have seen balog was recieving a slider and was going to crossover. Pevely was a little different it was not the cleanest slider but gravel could have lifted sooner. And he didnt crash. Maybe Tod Quiring could put him in an an office at one of the businesses he owns? What do you all think he could do besides race sprint cars? We need to figure something out before the we run out of kleenexes for dg's eyes.

It was a bs dirty slider from left field. Balog had to take evasive action when Buddy parked it in front of him. Gravel was colateral damage. If I was Gravel, my new occupation for a few minutes would have been MMA fighter. I realize you need to be aggressive and throw a few sliders to compete in then WOO but that seems to be all Buddy does out there, and I think anyone in Gravel's shoes would be pissed, including the tool who started the thread. Maybe Roth should send Buddy down to the local level until he learns how to pass cleanly. Look at the great run Cole Macedo had. He learned the track and found the fast lane and passed cars cleanly. To me that's way more impressive than running everyone else off the track in a big money car.

Couldn't agree more. That was on Buddy.

A bs dirty slider? He didn't touch either one and Balog didn't seem to have an issue with it. Evasive action lmfao ya Billy really looked rattled. Gravel hit every fning thing but victory lane. How easy we forget when Mrs Gravel punted Stevie at the National Open

You must have missed Gravel trying to run Buddy over several times in the previous laps. A guy can only put up with so much and then starts racing others like they race you. Gravel has no respect for his fellow competitors and to me does come off like an entitled whiny bitch sometimes...

Kofoids slider last week was definitely bad, and he owned it. Last nights slider was clean, that slider happens all the time. Issue gravel had was balog cut under, meaning gravel had to cut under balog.
I find it interesting Carson Torpedo wrecked gravel out of the championship hunt a few years ago and he didn't go off like that.

I'm not sure I saw Gravel handle it poorly. ??? The wreck was a direct result of Buddy's move, "dirty" or not dirty in everyone's eyes. I personally thought Gravel made his point and done deal. Whether or not everyone thinks the slider was dirty or not dirty, Gravel made his point, and we are onto the next night. Not sure he needs to find a new job???? Unless I missed something......

Kofoid threw a slider and didn't feed anyone a right rear. He was clear of both cars and it's a slider you see on many nights across America. I didn't see an issue with it.

It amazes me how many people still can't be objective about this incident 10 years later. Stevie was blocking his ass off. Which for $50,000 to win, I would be too. Especially knowing there was someone right on my ass who was as good or better than me. David tried to run off his right rear on entry and rip to the outside wide open to try and stay on his right rear on exit which is a common move at Williams Grove. If you can get to their right rear on exit, it keeps them a lane down on the straightaway and forces them to scrub off raw speed. That's all he was trying to do and Stevie pitched it a half lane later than he was every lap prior and David had already committed to sailing it. Total racing deal. And not to mention, that was David's first crown jewel win and that was the most somber victory lane I've ever seen at a National Open. He immediately apologized and wasn't celebratory at all. He was legitimately bummed over what happened.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I can't see that Kofoid did anything wrong. He passed Gravel and Balog without contact. Balog turned down and bonked into Gravel. It seems like Gravel could have been just as mad at Balog. It looked like just a racing deal to me.

I agree with this post. To me it looked like gravel drove into the side of balog. Seems like gravel should have known balog had to cut down but he didn't give him room to do it
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

They all had an "oh shit" moment up in four. There could have been three wadded up cars. Sprint Car drivers doing Sprint Car driver things happens every weekend somewhere.

Shouldn't Gravel been just as upset at Balog? Shouldn't Zearfoss have bee upset at Gravel?
How upset would Gravel have been if someone like Sweet had knocked him out of the lead and end over end into a cornfield?

Balog tried to squeeze in between Gravel & Buddy & there was no room to do it... dumb move, IMHO
But still, a "racing deal"
I'd like to ask Gravel why he was pissed at Buddy.....

I think he was just pissed because he had a clear view of Buddy's move, and regardless of whether or not it was clean or not clean, it was what started the chain reaction that caused him to get on his roof.

Yea, Buddy didn't leave either driver anyplace to go
You're right, chain reaction, one error leads to another...
Racing deal IMHO

I own a Buddy tee shirt, and don't own a DG shirt. With that said, I didn't think it was a good slider. What's everyone's thoughts on how midgets race and micros race, and how often do we see these bombs that we know aren't good?!
