I paid $285 a tire for RaceSaver right rears this weekend. Hurt my heart.
Was told down in Florida to suck it up because we'll be paying close to $500 next year.

Hoosiers were $315 plus tax in iowa last year. Just think you got 50 laps of care free miles out of them. The small teams will not be able to operate as every thing you need to race with costs so much more. Some guys will just pile up costs on a credit card stack and will not give CRAP.

Heads of every sprint car group across the land need to have a meeting to start trying to control costs or your right, pricing will put teams out of business. Hoosier is going to hurt racing because they stand above everyone else. The smaller companies then follow the leader in raising there pricing.

Yeah, we all have to suck it up (as far as tax paying citizens go). Times change, be prepared to change with them whether you like it or not. Sounds like you need to sell more houses to maintain your hobby, it's always been an expesive sport and I don't think that will change. Enjoy it while you can.

For those wondering what " to start " should pay, the price of a right rear seems fair.

This is what happens when you allow a monopoly. The WoO, All Stars, Central PA and everyone else who killed the free market and became a party to this shit is to blame. Car owners too. They could end this nonsense right now. If everyone banded together and refused to race, you'd see shit change within a week. Either that or everyone show up with American Racer right rears and dare the track/series to do something about it. One thing is for sure, as long as people keep forking over money to Hoosier who is very obviously price gouging, nothing will ever change. Tweeting about it or putting a piece of electrical tape over the Hoosier sticker is pointless. Sometimes ya just gotta dig in, use your leverage and demand change or it will never happen.

I heard an old guy say the other day that the inflation rate is down. That means that prices are lower, right.

100 percent correct the tracks and sanctions took the money and turned their backs on the teams and drivers.

It means they're rising slower.
If prices go down, thats called "deflation"

Right. And then when the teams whine about needing more money coming in, who does it ultimately fall back on? The fans of course. Then promoters will be crying the blues that the bleachers are 3/4 empty because as it turns out, a lot of people don't want to pay $25 or $30 to watch the *insert name here* memorial which basically amounts to a regular show with group time trials during hot laps and the same cars that are there every week with maybe the exception of a few backmarkers coming out of the woodwork hoping to score easy start money. They'll be at home 15 minutes up the road watching on Flo for pennies on the dollar. It seems so obvious yet so few actually get it.

I guess some needs to explain this to that old guy. He just it again today and that wages are up more than prices so buying tires should not be a problem.

That hasn't happened in a long time. Prices are through the roof over the last 3 years.

I sold out 3 years ago and bought a set of golf clubs. Literally the smartest thing I've ever done.
