If only the folks who said it would be the other way round, that ASCS would be the one buying up what was left of the WoO, were still posting here.

I've been on hoseheads since mid-2000s and it was a heavy topic for a Few years. Especially after the 2006 split where it took 410 racing a few years to recover from.

I've been on this site since about 01 or 02 but don't remember the outlaw/ascs drama, I was busy being way too much fun for MSPN. lol..Was the NST deal in 2006? Being from PA it's difficult for me to think of anytime it took a few years for 410's to recover, although the fields are smaller today. I will admit that back in the day I thought sprint cars would be powered by 360s by the year 2000, glad I didn't put money on it.

I don't know that it was an ASCS thing much as it was a 360 vs. 410 thing. A group of people on Hoseheads, lead by a guy called The Ref, went on and on about how the sprint car world was on the verge of switching everything over to 360's and that would be the demise of The WoO, beacuse that would suddenly make everybody in a sprint car equal.

I would like to say "well played sir" but I can't. Did you know that a chunk of coal could be a gem in about a gazillion years. You're good at picking and choosing, do you work for the lame stream media? Sha Sha......

They bought a 360 series, why is the question. Time will tell, but I'm sure most will speculate. No harm in that.

Emmett Hawn has done more for sprint car racing than any series owner.

I see it as being in the same realm as the Gumout series. This would be a minor league source to cultivate future major league talent. When the WoO are in town, the faster teams could be incentivized to drop in a 410 to fill out the field and get laps in against the big dogs. All in all, not a bad idea.
I get the feeling that the ASCS was purchased at a bargain price, maybe after Emmett Hahn repoed it?

Based on items read on FB, it would appear that Emmett Hahn most likely approached WRG. Hope this works out for ASCS drivers and fans.

many a driver started out racing 360's with ASCS National tour before moving up to race with the Outlaws full time, I guess WRG can see the series as a potential training ground for WoO.

the WOO could be going to back to how it used to be for a while when they had the Gumout series. now just a training grounds with WOO rules to train the up and comers and still benefit from it. just my thought.
