Basically WoO format. The only difference I read 1.) heat races you can earn pole in feature by racing not draw. Good idea 2. ) on 2 day show top 3/4 from first day feature don't qualify , postioned in top of qualifying. I guess ok, rewards a good night. In the old WoO format the top 4 on day 1 didn't qualify or heats, ran dash to line up A for day 2. I always thought that was too much "reward".
Again minor changes

I have always liked the ASCOC qualifying format better than the WOO. Not sure if I totally understand the adjustments but they seem like an improvement. Taking 18 cars out of the qualifying on the second day removes some of the boring portions of the event. Just seems like a Overall reward for being fast in every area. Read someplace that the format may be adjusted depending on the car count. I think they shouldn't have those rules in place before they need them

I'm reading that differently. As I read it, just the top 3 or 4 from the first night's feature bypass qualifying the second night.

Correct...the top three or four positions, not three-quarters of the prelim A-Main.

The Flo article, which I read first , linked on the other HL thread reads 3/4 but the same article in the HLR website says " 3 or 4".
Two FACTS.

Absolutely. Perfect example why it's important to be crystal clear in your meaning when writing a published document, such as a press release. Bottom line is that it will be top 3 or 4 positions, because if it's the top 18 positions then it's not much of a reward when so many people are rewarded.

I believe it's 3 or 4 depending on how many cars show up the first night.

I do like the idea of the dice roll and a fan having a chance to win some money.

And how many times after they changed the dice roll thing did the driver starting in the same spot as the number rolled on the dice win the A main? Just wondering. I'd say if the number rolled is higher than 6 the odds of a fan winning any money are slim at best.

At TriCity speedway under the original rule, the winner came from 8th in 2023.
