Suprised to not see any discussion here about the rumored removal of the flagger at Lincoln. Personally, I don't have a problem with it
Thoughts?

From what I understand the ontrack calls have been coming from the tower since Galen Kollar left and some drivers weren't happy with the calls coming from the tower.

Didn't know that. Did they just use the normal Raceceiver and track lights, or did they replace the flagman with some other system?

I get it I do. The flag man still has a sort of nostalgic feel too it. Also not all flagman are created equal. The NASCAR flagman past the original drop of the green serves no purpose. Some local ones can put on quite the show which I don't mind. At dirt tracks I do see lots of kids just loving to imitate the flagman. Heck my kids love getting checkered flags at tracks and taking them home and pretending they are flagging while the other is racing around the house. As a die hard, yes the flagman is not a necessary part of the show but, I do feel there will be little bit of a loss here for some people in certain situations.
