Anyone heard any news on Austin McCarl for next year? Been kinda patiently waiting to hear him announced as HL with his car owners being from Cali and all. Maybe his plans have been announced and I missed it? Kinda thought I heard he might be looking for bigger plans for 2024 instead of weekly Knoxville. Would hate to lose another car at Knoxville but understand this may be a good time for some of these uo and coming drivers to try to make a name or splash in either series.

Funny how names and phrases change. I see the phrase "pick and choose schedule " used more and more. That used to be called "running a true outlaw schedule".

Maybe we should use a phrase I heard somewhere in an interview. I don't remember who was being interviewed but he talked about sprint car teams "wildcatting" around, going where the money is and not following a series. Since the term "wildcat" is usually used to describe an independent company drilling for oil, the context made sense.

Before 1978, those drivers were called outlawsSmile
