After watching Sheldon and Tyler race against each other, I feel Tyler is a way better driver than Sheldon, Sheldon and Tyler have best of everything but Tyler seems to beat him in ever race. I feel if Sunshine raced Outlwas he would have more points and wins than Sheldon.  Sheldon seems to make stupid decisions or wears his tires out or Crash. Sunshine is smooth and consistant, Sheldons team will win Outlaws best work zone team because he is in there more than any Outlaw team, Facts are facts, Maybe its time Sheldon goes to Allstars and Sunshine to Outlaws. Sheldon would probably never win a Championship there eithe. Lets face it Sheldon and Gravel are the same age and look at the results. Even Macedo is better and he is 5 years younger. Can't wait to see where this goes next year.  Go Sunshine!! Also Sunshine would kick Sheldons ass without a wing. No Doubt about it.  . 

Sheldon is more consistent because he always times near the top and always runs well in the heat races to put himself in a great starting position. He can stomp and steer for 8-10 laps on a tacky track with the best of them. When the track slicks off or during long green runs, is when he goes backwards. Sheldon is brilliant at times but inconsistent as hell. Has Tyler won an outlaw race yet? Until he pulls that off or wins a big race somewhere, I'd still have to put Sheldon slightly ahead.

If I'm a car owner with the choice I'm putting Courtney in and it's not a hard decision at all. 

This thread is pretty well the same garbage. Your judging off of just a few head to head comparisons. Sheldon has won a lot of big races and practically owned the Ironman at Pevely. Both are excellent drivers that excel on different types of tracks. Yes Gravel is better overall and Sunshine would kick Sheldon's butt without a wing but I don't think anyone is arguing that?

I assume this is the original poster's attempt at humor or to bash Sheldon but it's still an interesting question. Sheldon can be the fastest car on the track by a mile but is very inconsistent. He'd win the All Star title going away but so can Courtney obviously. Courtney has had a ton of success at Eldora and with the All stars but his track record against the Outlaws is spotty. One win and 11 top 5's in over 60 starts. 

I think a comparison here is acceptable since they have the same sponsor. The sample size is small and some good points already shared. My question is, does Stenhouse also own the 7BC? I thought that was from the Brian Clauson stables? The sponsor probably doesn't have the power to tell the car owner who when where and why to race their car. Different styles for sure and when Sheldon is tuned he is exciting.

You assume both cars are  exactly equel every night.  That is not possible. He has not had a great year but what do you blame.  Look at what a new pit head crew has done for Rico.

I like them both. Sheldon is better on the rougher shorter track and will run the top as fast as any but sometimes it bites him.Tyler will bring it home in one piece and is more consistant both in top ten drivers in their series. Jac was very popular for his daring style and it must have been handed down.Both in top Rrides

To me the WoO is just down right tough as nails right now. I don't think Sunshine would have much success vs Gravel, Sweet, Macedo, Schatz, and sprinkle in the best local talent everywhere. Just my opinion. If you want wins I'd pick Sheldon. If you want a points driver probably should pick Courtney. 

Not directed at you but more so the conversation, if you fire either or, who do you replace them with? In the world we have winners and losers so it's not possible for everyone to be a winner. Right now if your not one of the ones mentioned above your probably not on the winning side much.

Big Sheldon fan, but you're right this season has not been good at all.   Seems like his team has been slower than the others on adjusting to the new tire?   I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Stenhouse made a change of some sort on this team during the off season.   

Around nationals time I thought about haud and what an off year he has had. Not sure what the issues are but he is usually a contender for wins. This year he is more an also ran, but he has crashed less it seems.

Don't have a dog in this 'fight', but that statement, the facts certainly don't support that.

Since 2022, Sheldon and Tyler raced together in 43 races...

• 28 times, Sheldon finished ahead, with a average of 11.1
• 15 times, Tyler finished ahead, with a average of 13.5

Thanks Bill For doing that leg work. Excellent comparison. So it looks to me like it's maybe not a driver probkem as both has slipped at a very similar rate vs the competition. That would likely mean equipment or set up issues, which believe me, are not easy to diagnose and aren't always fixed with money. I'm guessing the ship will be righted and these two teams will catch back up with the competition. It happens. Chassis, shocks, tires, etc are always changing and sometimes it takes a while to get the right combination.

I believe you'll see a switch in the series these two run next year when the Highlimit Allstars anounce their schedule

Partially.  The Marshalls are part owners in both teams.  Stenhouse is the other part for Sheldon.  Clausen is the other part for Courtney.

It would be interesting to see how much the Marshalls actually spend on racing.  In addition to those two teams they show up on a lot of other cars as well.  I've never figured out what they actually do.  You can't find much info on Priority Aviation.  Whatever it is must be profitable.  Just happy they like sprint car racing.
