Just curious last week when Sweet got ran over by the push truck or hit or whatever you want to say. He was allowed to come intot he pits and I think they said he gets 5 or 6 minutes and he got his spot back per WOO rules. I am good with all that but here is my question. The front wing and stuff up front was damaged and again all ok with tha, BUT he then takes the wheel cover off the right rear and makes an air pressure change. To me that shouldhave been a violation and to the back he goes. That is just me and my opinion. No issues with fixing the problem with push truck and yes he should have gotten his spot back but as soon as he is making changes not caused by the push truck he should have gone to the back. Whats your thoughts. Maybe I am looking into it to much I don't know. It always seems like Johnny pulls these rules out of the air, but he probably know severy rule inside and out.

I saw that and said the exact same thing. With most shocks what is to say they didnt tune them a click or two without anyone even noticing.

same thing happened to us once when the push truck ran over our right rear and caught the top wing. we were allowed to check the airpressure and make sure the bleeder wasn't damaged... may have been same???

In my opinion, once your car is damaged from a push truck, you should be able to make any adjustments you want to make. He got 6 minutes by the way. Was that enough time to completely fix every single component on the car that was damaged? Not sure. However, since the car was damaged by an outside force, and his trip to the pits was not of any racing deal, he should be able to do anything he wants to the car to return it to the track-----especially since they are only given 6 minutes. I'm actually with EasyE---there should not have been a time limit.
JMO though

I'd guess he would have gotten enough time no matter what to make the repairs needed within reason. I think the rule is there to keep someone from saying I need an hour and a half to scale and go over this car now to make sure the frame wasnt bent.

Are you sure they made adjustments? I guess I don't see any harm in checking air pressure but looking from the sidelines it would be hard to tell if they actually made adjustments, unless you saw an air tank?

Did he make any adjustments? More than likely no, he probably just pushed some more air into the tire ot replace the air that was bled off durring racing. However, that is certianly an advantage compared to the the rest of the cars on the track with lower air pressure in the RR on the restart.
Had the RR got run over by the push truck and they added air to the tire im 100% good with that. Since the RR was not anywere close to the damage, it shouldnt be able to be touched.
I would say that 80% of the outlaw teams would have done the same thing in that situation without even thinking about it. Pumping the RR nad LR up on an open red is standard practice.

I have no problem with giving them any amount of time needed to fix the car. But wasn't there another car or two in the work area that took advantage of that time also? I didn't think that was fair.

I believe the work area has always been open for anyone until the last eligible car has to leave. I'm not sure why that would be unfair. All cars but Sweet had to tag the field anyways. The crowd shows up to watch as many cars run as possible, and a lot of these cars come long distances. Why not give them every opportunity to be on the track for the entire feature? Once they come to the work area, they have pretty much surrendered the opportunity for victory anyways.
