I understand. Long article and sucked to scroll through it all the time. I thought it was well written and represented both ways. I'm still pretty surprised by the choice but sometimes you wonder if the fence is greener on the other side.

When reading through this thread does anybody else feel like they're reading a real life version of the Jim Carrey movie Me Myself and Irene?

Thanks for posting, Good article. It happens, DK is obviously frustrated and feels the team has tried everything.  It will be odd seeing the changes in rides that many thought would never have happened. Three top pa rides, 2 definitely getting new drivers, this only leaves the 1a of BA in question as to moving forward. Could BA possibly go after Macri ? Remember the 1a has sponsor obligations  and there also on the platinum deal with the outlaws.

Here is a thought, Joey Allen to the 69K for a while.  He's a bottom feeder and is not hard on equipment.  Race close to home for a while.

I think Joey has a better chance getting in the 1a than the 69k.

Thank you IADIRT for posting the informative article.

What I gather from reading the article is Donnie doesn't really have anyone in mind to drive the car.  He is waiting to see who calls them to drive. Huh?    We can all have our opinions if Lance has lost a step or not.  But I think we can all agree that anyone on Lance 's level with experience and knowledge already has a ride.

It seems like if your going to fire a HOF driver you would have a replacement in mind.

The team might have been thinking of ending it at the end of the year,  but  the time-line got sped up.

Maybe it is like some have be speculating,  the women had a go round and boom went the team.  Not the first team to break up due to women and won't be the last,

From his twitter this morning - "As of this morning, I've been relieved of my position with the 69K.  Thank you to Donald, Davey, the Team & Sponsors for the time I spent behind the wheel.  I'm not done yet..."

What is going on in PA?

the flo article says team owner was not satisfied with the "NEW TIRE" results from Hoosier.  i'v heard lame excuses befoe but blame it on tires...weak in the personality department or just a bold LIE.  hmmmm

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

He absolutely did not blame the tire.  He blamed himself for struggling to figure out the new tire and how best to make it work.  He took full responsibility and the high road all at once.  The sport is lucky to have owners and drivers like Mr. Kreitz and Mr. Dewease.

Many teams struggled when challenged with the new tire. As always, the full time teams figured it out quicker than the part timers.

“We could not get the feel he was looking for in the cars,” Kreitz said. “We have struggled a little bit with the new tires compared to the old tires we had with our setups. We couldn’t figure it out and get comfortable. It didn’t seem like it was getting any better. I didn’t know what to do. It’s been awhile. I’m sure Lance isn’t that happy with me, but in a few weeks from now, or a month from now, he’ll probably thank me. He’ll end up getting in a good car.

Let's not forget Mr. Kauffman was on the road with WoO and Ascoc for 10 years.  He left the porch and probably at least 50+ wins on the porch by doing so.  Lance off the porch 1 year because he thought it was lock on an All Star championship which did not happen.

On the porch or off, Kauffman sat in some of the best rides in the sport but didn't win many big races. His stats are great, but nothing like Lance. His record in big races is not real good. His record in the crown jewels is even more piss poor. Lance has outperformed Keith by quite a bit. Like Lance or not, stats don't lie.

Facts are facts and Lance missed almost as many races as Kauffman did at Port.  Those are the Facts.

If not more. Plus Lance is the only driver with track titles at Port, Williams Grove and Lincoln. His record speaks for itself.

Yes and I am permitted to like and dislike whom ever I wish!!  There has only ever been a couple that I have disliked in 40 plus years as a fan of sprint car racing.

How about Kauffman the only driver to have (4) track championships in one year!

Port Royal, Williams Grove, Susquehanna & Hagerstown.

18 total track championships!  How many more if not on the road for 10 years!

I'm not saying Kauffman wasn't great. He was. Absolutely one of the best. But all I'm saying is the bulk of his success came in weekly competition or middle tier shows. He spanked some of the all time greats many times over his career. I take NOTHING from him. If anything, it shows how great Lance is when his stats, especially against WoO, All Stars, and in the crown jewel events are compared against another of the all time greats like Keith. Just his National Open record alone is incredible. He won it in 1996 with Dyer, 2001 with Harz, 2002 with Hamilton then in 2018 & 2022 with Kreitz. That's a crown jewel win in 4 different decades with 4 different owners. Oldest winner in the history of the event. 2 of his wins came after the age of 50. Keith never won it at all. Had a few good runs but his over Open record is mediocre. Doesn't matter how you cut it, Lance has been outstanding in big races throughout his entire career. Even his down years, he scored a runner up in the Open with Donny Owens and a podium with Mike Heffner in 2013. He also won the Summer Nationals in the Dietz 14 which was a car that no one ever thought was capable of winning such a race. Plus he beat the outlaws at Charlotte in the Donny Owens 30c. You can like whoever or dislike whoever but the stats are what they are.

I am no lawyer but he never blames the tires directly.  "We couldn't figure it out and get comfortable" / "I didn't know what to do."  Mr. Kreitz says Lance will probably thank him because he believes he will get into a good car which obviously uses the same new tires. Any critical thinker would read that the team with the good car figured out the new tires where as Mr. Kreitz is admitting he has struggled.  He is humble as well.  We are all fortunate to see what the 69K has done over the past bunch of years.  Some great wins.  I don't have dog in the fight and don't own a 69K t-shirt but I respect all their accomplishments and thankful for being able to watch a team compete and win against the best in the business.  No reason to call someone a liar when its clear as day he is there is no lies to be found.

I hope he finds a good ride and goes for the Port record but unfortunately there's like maybe 5 good rides in PA that aren't family owned rides. Central PA sure isn't what it used to be when it comes to deep pocket owners. I'm actually shocked by the timing of this although I was thinking there was good chance that the entire team.driver might retire at the end of the year with the way it's been going. LD did manage a 29K score a couple months ago.

KK 10 years on the road - 9 WOO wins and 24 ASCOC wins

LD 1 year on the road - 13 WOO wins and 39 ASCOC wins
