Grandstand looked quite empty on the high light videos from the heats
To be fair, it has to do with the camera location. Look at the grandstands on Google maps. There's a main concourse that splits the stands into upper and lower. The lower areas in the camera shots are not the most sought after seats. They are right there, so you have the race in your lap. This year the track added another row of billboards above the inside wall on the front stretch. From the lower seats, you cannot see half the track.
LOL Late model 55 it actually was about a 30 second copy/paste from MRP's site.
I was surprised that nobody had posted anything about the car count as race time neared (for as much talk about it there was leading up to this point).
Track held up great...Larson from 5th to win, Gravel from 12th to 2nd. Glad they waited a bit for hot laps to get the sun a bit lower.
Definitely a great kickoff to the weekend.
Here are highlights if any of you haven't seen them yet:
I think it's great Husets and Quiring are paying this kind of money, but it just seems like the track itself isn't ready for primetime yet. It takes them way too long to get the track right and with 54 cars it makes for a very long night.

I heard the same comment from those streaming the Knoxville WoO show a couple of weeks ago. They said it looked "empty." I was in Knoxville that weekend and thought the crowd was fantastic!!! TV camera angles do not do justice for crowd size many times.

I looked at Tickets available for Saturday and many of the reserved sections seem sold out which is good.
Sweet is lucky it's show up points only. I like Gravel's response when asked if he can afford to try new things after two great nights. He races cars for a living so he's gonna go for the money.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!
