Well I enjoyed watching the concrete kid's runaway victory. I love watching races at Port Royal, that track is a dirt racing treasure

i enjoyed the butt kicking too. nascar people were whining about larson dominating everyone at north wilkesboro. 30 years from now we'll be thankful we saw some of the best at their absolute best. larson is already one of the greatest and macri is well on his way. i don't necessarily want to see it every race like f1. every now and then builds their legacy as some of the few guys that can just lay it on the field periodically.

I enjoy reading many of the comments here and decided to weigh in on Port Royal. Last night the surface was smooth, limited dust, and it's also a great facility.
Unllike a duo, or perhaps the same person, I go to see great racing in an enjoyable atmosphere and not just certain speeds in time trials. That makes no sense to me. Last night, there was great racing throughout. Marks from 8th to 3rd, Dewease 16th to 4th, Heimbach 21 to 10, Deitrich 26th to 15th. Those are just a few examples of the movers through the field.

Another absolute banger at the jewel of the east. 7 races last night only 1 front row win. Passing everywhere all night. 3 lanes of racing great show as usual. Can't wait till the biggest show in pa, the tusky gonna be amazing again this year.

Id like to know Macris average speed compared to others since he drove a lot more distance on the wall than others. I'd just find it interesting, that's all.
when he runs that close does he actually touch the wall often? Seems like the side wall wouldn't take too much abuse!
looked like a good race kn you tube
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Let's reminisce, if you will, to a time long , long ago, when this was af friendly place:
It is an interesting question. In a game of inches and hundredths of a second, the guy running up against the wall has got to be going a lot faster than the guy on the bottom cuz he's going a lot farther. I'm guessing maybe an eighth mile farther. That's almost 7000 inches farther - that's probably about half a straight at Port.
And, rimriders like Macri and Jac have indeed gotten bit by the wall more than once - the sidewall, the wheel, the axle.
sure is fun to watch !

Sunday was pretty good. The battle for 2nd thru 5th in the feature was terrific before the caution came out.

Heats were incredible. Lance picking the pole made the A main less exciting but still a great night.

I've seen bad races on good tracks and good races on bad tracks. From my experience the quality of the field goes a long way. This hit me during a USAC east coast heat at the Grove I believe last year. Heat 1 was mostly slower guys who just rode around the bottom and didn't do much. Then the next heat had both Briggs Danner and Alex Bright and that particular heat was light years more exciting than the first one. They went out and hammered the curb, sliced across the middle......used the whole track to pass cars and drive to the front. The real good ones seem to figure out how to go forward and make shit happen on any type of track as long as it isn't rubbered up. Admittedly, I do like Port better when it's a tad quicker than it was last night but it's been pretty dry across the area lately so its not surprising to see a dirt track have dryer conditions during a period such as this. But both nights were pretty good even though the track was rather dry. It didn't rubber up so as usual, the good ones figured it out and put on a show.

Maybe there is something g to that last line above. The good ones figured it out. Lance starting on the pole probably had most of them saying we have to try something. Ride that high side and you know eventually it's going to bite. Donnie K. and the 69k team usually find it beneficial to run low while others take chances up top. Lance has mastered control of the car with his feet, I guess you could say he is one of the good ones

I have never said anything about the facility! One of the best anywhere. But worst track conditions anywhere!

Let me guess....I saw some of the drivers were in the 15 to very low 16 second bracket in warmups. Track quicker than Saturday night. Produced a better feature. I bet and no I didn't see anything, Just guessing, I bet the quick cars were a lane or two off the outside wall all the way to the inside guardrail. No bouncing off the wall on Sunday night....the quick way around was not the wall. If you prepare the track like Sunday night, I might be tempted to go back.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

Actually you're dead wrong. They were hitting the fence all the way around. Especially Macri and Borden. Lance ran the inside but everyone who passed cars was running literally 8 inches or less from the outside wall. If you could attach pics here, I'd attach a pic to prove it. So you're dead wrong. And the racing Saturday night was actually a bit better despite the track being a little worse. So as usual, your amoeba level IQ didn't do you any favors.

Lance is an all time great so yeah, definitely one of the good ones. You're right. He has mastered the abilty to run where no one else can. Combination of a masterful driver and a car that's tuned to perfection more times than not.

No one gives a crap if you ever go to Port Royal again. I don't think any track needs your general admission money to keep afloat. Keep sniveling you sad little attention seeker/ aka Port Royal's top PR man.

It's fascinating the All Stars were consistently beating the Posse a few years ago for the first time basically ever, and now they are back to their usual spot of barely contending for top 5s when they make it to PA.

I agree. Both nights produced great racing and Saturday may have been a little better through the field. We enjoyed both nights at Port Royal.
