And 18 305's as of this point. 56 degrees and sunny...should be an exciting night of racing!
Here's the drivers list as of 5:30pm CST:

Why would they have 305's at all? 51 cars is already a full show on a Tuesday night.

Not to discount the 305's, but just answering your question, it actually doesn't affect the schedule.
They put a 2nd division in after TTR's, heats and B's while there's going to be a few minutes of downtime anyway.

What in Gods name is up with these announcers! We have so many good announcers within 300 miles of this track, why in the world are these guys announcing. They have done very little homework and it shows.

Oh how I wish you were right: sitting through this 305 feature is torture.

My thoughts too, they're affecting the schedule right now. At least they are sprint cars and not some kind of mod or stocker.

Lots of wrecks. Lots of passing. Lots of cars.
noticed that Larson hasn't been running much in sprints this year. Is he keeping himself for the Highlimits hoping to sell himself and increase tickets sales? Protecting his brand like the Woo wants to?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Agree they don't need a support class at these events and could better use the intermission time to promote the 410's. Driver intros with all the cars lined up on the front stretch and the drivers out of the cars would have been cool. That being said, I thought the 305's were entertaining and had a good race, just not necessary.

They need a pregame show like they do for the LM midweek shows. Seems like Flo is predominantly run by people who love LMs and that's where their passion is. The other thing I was thinking was they really dropped the ball using the exact same format as the WoO. Nothing feels that different from a typical National event except there is more purse money. And the Welches add zero to the broadcast. They would be a good add if they were hosting the studio show or doing behind the scenes stuff. But as race day announcers they leave a lot to be desired.

big win for macri. arguably the biggest win of his career. it was off the porch, not at port royal, and the field of cars was strong. he out ran the best in the business in the closing laps.

Chase Elliot breaking his leg snowboarding may work out to be Larson's saving grace....injuries can happen anywhere and it seems NASCAR is willing to give an exemption to drivers who miss races due to injury to stay championship eligible.

Maybe? Also, sounds like he enjoys the late model so much, he may just be trying to mix and match all of his time between the different cars. If he's going to pick a series to run the 410, it might as well be the series he is part owner in, and races tuesday nights when it interferes with nothing else. They advertised him running the High Limit Series, so I would anticipate him running all of the events. He will likely still run some WoO sanctioned events this year-----like the Nats. Time will tell.

Guessing Mr Hendrick does not agree with you!

Don't forget, the guy has a day job that he has to keep covered too.

Defending Announcers
Still seeing complaints about the announcers, on here. I think they did a good job. Much better than the first race so, should continue to grow. They did some research, with very little dead air. Anyway, I enjoyed the race, and the announcing.

Who cares about the announcers? (other than the guys who already complained....)
Great race, IMHO, great field, & Posse came off the porch & won... congratulations Macri!!!
He seemed pretty stunned in his interview... "I dunno, I dunno"....
Wish I could have been there to see all the passing in the back, which cameras on PPV usually miss...
So far both races have been good, more fun that WoO in some ways (less predictable)... whats not to like?
(Oh right, the announcers....)

My guess is with the current points situation that it's even less of big deal to miss races? But I could see Hendrick telling them IF they have a chance to win the championship (during the chase) they better not be doing anything dangerous outside of the racetrack. My guess is it won't be an issue unless a sponsor gets upset about them not driving the car.

His sprints are going to be limited by the fender races he runs.
