Brown is the best knoxville has to offer. I'll take the wait and see attitude toward what happens with the crew change. That family has had issues on and off the track for years, surprised by this ? Not one bit.

Didn't Brian win 1 or more championships without Dude near the car? (I'm asking because I can't verify that for sure)

By the numbers, it looks like Brown got a bump from Danny being on board.
Danny became the crew chief in July 2021 so without going through and crunching those numbers.......
2020 (without Danny) 58 Races 4 Wins $81K earned.
2022 (full year with Danny) 61 Races 6 Wins $150K earned.
Money Numbers may be a little scewed because Brown got 6th in the HBO and in the King's Royal in 2022 and 20th in the Knoxville Nationals (over 10k) and those races were not contested in 2020. But Sprint Car Ratings shows his 2020 and 2022 results being:
2020 20th rated 410 driver with a .4158 rating
2022 17th rated 410 driver with a .4910 rating.
So those are the numbers, I'd say looking at that he got a bump with Danny on board, but not a HUGE one.

The Dude has a lot of experience.Seems like Jimmy Carr called the shots during the TSR days. Witout question Brian Brown has done the best job running his own team and sometimes best to make a change.Of the top retired drivers it was rumored the Dude would give it a shot but never happened. He was one of the best just like everyone he has some baggage,Tony got him a shot in IROC but I dont thin
k they exchange Christmas cards.

I've been hesitant to post this because I really do like the dude. But throughout his career he has bounced around a ton. I'm guessing he's in his mid 60s now and I would bet hasn't held a job with the same team (whether driving or crew chiefing) for more than 5 years. He obviously has talent both driving and crew chiefing. I hate to say it but I'm thinking he must really be hard to work with.
