Saturday night at Central Arizona Speedway(or something like that) he got burnt. 2nd degree burns on his legs.

2nd and 3rd degree burns. 3rd on one leg. Had skin grafs yesterday. At least 5 more days in hospital. All info from him.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me. Was he in a crash? Or did a fuel line break. What caused the fire? I know he was burned, but he I didn't hear what happened. Glen Murra

Mark is a good guy and having lots of bad luck the last few years..Maybe this latest incident is a sign that its time to call it a day..

Mark called into Grand Forks Best Source Dirty Thursday (a gf podcast) & said he noticed his legs getting wet from a fuel leak. There was a caution & he was getting out of the way & when he shut it off it backfired & started his legs on fire,

There is always always a chance of being injured. I personally think fire can be the worst. The best safety equiptment is only good for a short time. Wolfgang fire was a wake up call for better fire protection Mark probably didnt have an unboard fire protection as most dont think it is nesessary and adds a few lbs but when it does happen its too late. He is a determined racer and came back from severe injuries a year ago. Some people dont realize the danger involved for their entertainment. Many retire with few injuries but Brad Doty and Kevin Swindell are examples of what can and does happen to the best

What brought Mark's subject up again..Is he having health problem now? Its been six months since his fire accident..
