If I am late to the party, I apologize, but, I just saw a post on Twitter tonight from Lincoln Speedway showing their scheduled races that will be streamed on Flo this season. Gone are the weekly broadcasts from the track like in previous years. Anybody know what happened and why they've dropped their weekly shows on flo? Please spare me, if you will, the tired argument that streaming hurts in-house attendance. Every race I watched from Lincoln last year had good crowds. Looks like it's Port Royal on Flo for me then.

It seems your question can't be answered without hurting your feelings especially when weather is questionable. What is considered good attenance one place may not be normal elsewhere.

If tracks feel that streaming is hurting attendance this is what happens.

Thanks for sparing my feelings. I'll just jump in my car and drive the 8 hours one way to attend Lincoln a person. Would that satisfy you?

This myth that Lincoln is packed every week is just that, a myth.

Don't shoot the messenger. I have been saying on here for a year or more that either flo will start to cost more so more can go to tracks or shows will be cut from it. Why do you think NFL games are blacked out locally if they are not sold out.I can tell it is being discussed at other tracks.

is that flo's fault or the track's fault?  the gettysburg clash and the tuesday speedweek race at lincoln might be my two favorite races all year.  beyond that...i'd much rather go to port royal on a saturday night.

making the dirt classic non-sanctioned seems like a mistake too.  they'll be lucky to catch some all star guys between their race in ohio saturday and the labor day race at port royal.

does anybody know some of the actual dollars...like how much money tracks get and what the percentage is?  what was their revenue like before and after flo came along?  there would be a lot of factors changing revenue in addition to what streaming adds and also potentially takes away through decreased attendance.  it's all speculation wthout numbers and i'm assuming we'll never see them.

i hear similar complaining from my drexel basketball friends who hate flo.  without numbers...i don't know how you can have a strong opinion one way or another other than it's really nice to sit back and watch sports i never got to see for myself before.  i honestly won't miss the lincoln features that much and maybe this also a trend towards running mostly special shows.

Yes, Port Royal gets $100/show.  Yes, that's right, PEANUTS.

Dirt track PPV has killed attendance at WG, Lincoln, and Port Royal (with the exception of Speedweek at Lincoln and Port and the Tuscarora 50).

I honestly don't know how people say it has not. I love Floracing but I am not surprised one single iota with this. I would bet Port will follow.

Lincoln has a good crowd at 80% of their shows, I'm there enough to know.  Maybe Flo will come up with a super double platinum membership that would allow you to watch more racing if the tracks get more money. Of course, a super double platinum subscription will cost more. I still subscribe to Flo but I don't watch it as much as I used to, it doesn't replace being at the track.

You only watched part of it a couple of times but you know the track conditions almost every week?

Fifty people would not affect the look of the crowd but $20 each that is $1000.

I will agree that streaming has knocked crowds back a bit, I'm guilty of staying home on some of those cold spring days and watching a stream.

Bummer. Guess I'm done with FLO. Lincoln was the one I looked forward to on Sunday morn with a cup of coffee.

Blaming Flo and DV for poor attendance is just an excuse and is a low-hanging scapegoat for, in this case, Lincoln. It's an excuse for them instead of looking at and addressing such as poorly-run shows that last way too long, as well as other things that are within their control that need to be addressed. How many people does Lincoln (or Port, or whover else is doing this) think eliminating streaming will put back in the stands per race? Hundreds, a thousand? No way.

Also, what about the teams that negotiated with sponsors saying that the exposure their company/product will get would be far beyond Hanover PA because of Flo?

Finally, it's easy to say that streaming has killed attendance . Where's the proof? Also, as for Port Royal only getting a hundred dollars per race from Flo - I'm not buying it. I'd like to see proof of that as well instead of heresay.

Whether or not you want to buy it or not is up to you, however, that information is factual.  Take it or leave it, whatever.
