Anyone know what is going on with Mike Heffner and his two teams for 2023?. Saw something yesterday that young Briggs Danner has left Heffner for another team. No other information released for the #27.

I think I was more surprised that Briggs Danner left his other team. He is young and argubly one of the more talented up and comers in the 360 ranks on the east coast. A driver an owner like Mike, could build a long term future around.

Might be a too many cooks in the kitchen issue there. In respect to car owner, crew chief, and sponsor who buys rides for the driver. Your point about the kid being good is correct. I'd like to see what happens when he races regularly against more than just one other team in a series that has the same equipment and talent. They wouldn't be the big fish in a little pond if they went Usac national, All Stars, or even central Pa full time. Those east coast 360 races were all about the 5g and 20 getting to the front in 3 laps and then who won between them. Danner is young and full of potential. Lets see where he goes from here.

Agree 100%...The series, although a stepping stone for local 600 Micro sprint drivers, was basically a TWO team domination over the last few years between Danner and Bright. In a way, it might have stunted the growth of the series. Best of luck for all those involved. It will be very interesting to see what direction Heffner goes with his two teams in 2023.

If ZEMCO team doesn't return Logan Wagner (with Tommy Carl) should get a shot in the 27. A lot of big money show$ at Port Royal.

Zemco is in the process of selling the business but is keeping the team active at least for this year.

Zemco is selling the Tool and Die business only- not the racing parts/header business. Zemco, Carl, and Wagner to run a limited schedule - not running for the Port championship. Wagner started his own business- no details.
AARN subscription is still worth every penny. More modified stuff for sure but still a lot of sprint car news that you don't get for free. And, Zemco is last week's AARN news

The Heffner 27 is an awesome ride and they had some great moments last season. Pittman finished 10th at the Knoxville Nationals in the car. Then he also won at Selinsgrove beating superstars Brent Marks, Anthony Macri, Ryan Smith, Devon Borden, Mark Smith, and Briggs Danner.
Maybe the team is focusing on the big 410 races scheduled in 2023. I wouldn't blame them.

The 5G and 20 did pretty well on the USAC Eastern swings.

Agreed. Trouble is, when they left home base the finishes weren't there. Obviously with more opportunities they might get better. My point is the complete dominance of the 360 series that was enjoyed, would not occur at the next level. Congrats to the success had and good luck to the next adventure.

One sneaky name to keep and eye on for the 27 should be Jared Esh. Yes he may have a bad habit of making bad decisions and tearing up a lot of equipment. But he has also shown some flashes of good in not great equipment. If he gets the 27 ride that would be his best equipment yet.
Also has anyone heard anything on the Coldren 07??

Prob couldn't go wrong with either of those three. Never been done before but maybe have a tryout, maybe with even more than that. Wouldn't be too hard to see who can time trial better for big money races. Might need a run off or 2. Lucas Wolfe might cream them all though Fans would probably eat up the spectacle also. Do it after races when track is tricky. Just put in seat big enough to fit any of them and they have to slap extra padding in when it's their turn. Idea is to make it hard. See who is a natural, wants it and can handle pressure. Toughest part prob picking track. Port has big shows but half would put it in wall trying. Grove safer and harder to go fast. Toss up though. If comes down to 2 guys in the end, could also run them against each other in two 27 cars for a few weeks to see runs better and works with 27 crew chief better.
