Worst run program in the history of racing.  D mains end at 6:30.  2 Cmains,  2 Brains,  1 Afeature ends 6 hours later.  Fans don't want to sit and watch nothing.   Which you got about 3 hours worth.  What a shi!! show

On top of that, the winners of the last several features came from the front row.  Typical of something run by the ascs clowns.

I stayed up until the bitter end because I had so much time invested in it already. I don't know if I'll do that again. I don't think I'd have the patience if I were there.

The capacity crowd didn't seem to mind. To each his own.

I agree, that was frickin' brutal.   In my case, I refuse to watch unless there is actual racing going on.   I spent much of my time watching other things and switching back over to see if the racing had resumed.  What was that they did after the D mains that droned on forever and ever?   Also, was there more track prep than in recent years?   It seemed that way, but I don't know if that's actually the case.   This is a big reason why sprint car racing was never big on mainstream TV.   You can't have a two or three hour show with 20 minutes of racing and fill the rest of the shows with driver interviews and commentary from the guys calling the race.

I tried to watch , starting with the pre race activity. Tuned out almost immediately came back and still going on. Maybe I should have gave it more time. Every time I came back no racing, finally gave up. To each his own but, I just don't see  the " entertainment " occurring. If they still keep selling tickets and FLO wants to promote 18 hours hours with 3 hours of content, so be it. Too many other things to do and plenty of other events in the year that you can spend 3-4 hours and be entertained. Life is about choices and I will pass on the 2024 Chilli Bowl, they have created a monster.

Ah so many recliner whiners... Saturday nights have been brutal for YEARS!!

From a guy with his ass in a seat in Section DD.  I get to the track around 9:30am because I do enjoy the soup runs. The day runs pretty darn smoothly until the dreaded break before opening ceremonies.  There was just a single big track rework all day until the big break.

The infamous break used to be pretty much tied to the MavTV live broadcast so when they finished the D's you had a pretty good idea of the time things might actually start that evening.  But this year everything pretty much came off the rails because of multiple track preps during the broadcast.

One suggestion is to complete the C's before the break and then you have just 3 races to manage.  Assuming 75% of people are streaming FLO and not on MAV cable they saw the C-mains anyway.

You could save some time by cutting some of the early soup features to 8 laps.  With 6 cars advancing out of 12-14 car fields not sure you need 10 laps to settle things.

I still am mixed on the Pole Shuffle's value. Not sure what to replace it with?

One would pray that there is group that sits down after the event and does a review of the timeline to improve the experience for those in attendence and at home .  Not sure there is because the same crap happens every year.  They need an a$$ kicker as the director behind the scenes of the event to keep things rolling smoother.

I will be back in my same seat for the 18th straight next year.   Love the people around me and the atmosphere after the races is like no other.  I would like to get to my motel before 1:30 am next year.

Same here, I switched back  forth to basketball games but ended up falling asleep, watched the end of A Main at about 3 AM on Flo after waking up.

Did they even have a Pole Shuffle this year?  must have missed it....If not, how did they set the lineup?

1) first trip to CB

2) I would go again, I'm 75 own a sprint car, been to a few races ( first one climbed a tree at Calif State Fair 1955 to watch stock cars on the old mile)

3) I have watched on TV kinda a super bowl party deal it was ok, but I told my son like to go there. We got tickets, Sadly someone form Wisconson passed, for us to get the tickets. The live experienee is far from tv pits, racing, fans, and the tulsa area we drove every morning to different towns.

4) Track was hit and miss every race if it was good they  raced (Rico on the cushion to win his A). Most of the time it was winner out of row one or two, rubber down, follow the leader, if you dared moving up you went backwards. I'm not a track prep expert but it was warmer it looked to me like they were behind all week tring to get moisture in from the top, which seldom works. Trophy Cup they deep work the track every night and start over CB they tried to scratch and sprinkle with a garden sprayer no moisture deep.If I ran this event for 20 plus years at what appears to be a profit and could not control the dust, we were high in 3-4 and many times could not see 1-2, I would be embarassed and pass it to someone who could. Fumes were not an issue to me. They do a great job of keeping the racing going. I could not believe there was no ambulance on site in the infield ready to move I have seen many races stopped in Cali because no ambulance was on site in fact if they left we were stopped until a second showed up this was unbelievable emts, firemen, good guys are not a trained ambulance crew.  No plan in place to secure media from a crash site, in fact if an ambulance had been in place they would have had to fight their way to the driver, I been around drag boat racing lots of fatal crashes so i kinda know how the event should prep.

5) 350 cars there maybe 15 have a shot at winning, 10K, big winner promoter, fair, Tulsa area business, Promotor said he was fortunate this year got enough support money to buy new pair of shoes (on stage before main) Dang I'm going back!!!!

They did have a pole shuffle, and I believe they had a draw to set the lineup.   I had also nodded off to sleep but woke up with about 4 laps down in the feature, so I didn't miss much of that.

OK, I missed this cause I didn't watch the "alphabet soup"....
I was wondering where Buddy Kofoid finished in the A, then looked it up & was shocked to see he finished 18th in the D !?!

WTF happened to the hottest midget driver on the planet????

I just couldn't make it through the chili bowl on flo, it just wasn't interesting, but I bet its a blast to be there and watch it live.  That said, I watched one of the best super late model races from Vado I've ever seen on flo Sunday night, 50 laps of passing, lead changes and side by side action, and NO Larson didn't win, but he almost did!

I tuned in at the posted time of 6:30pm CST and didn't check the clock but it must have been 9pm before the first car pushed off.  I'm a retired night owl so no problem staying up until 12:30am but in retrospect they could have listed the night's proceedings as "opening ceremonies at 6:30pm with the first green flag to follow at 9pm".  That way those watching from home might have opted to do something else until they did the invocation and anthem and dropped the green.  Racing doesn't come across as well on TV and I understand that the people in attendance consider the event a big love fest of people they haven't seen for a year.  The bottom line is that it took six hours to run two C Mains, two B Mains and one 55 lap Feature.  I'm at 63 years since attending my first race, have been to 40 tracks including big events like the Mopar Million, Knoxville Nationals and even a Cup race and have never seen a ceremony that long.  No problem if they want to do that but it would have been nice if the listing had made that clear.  Probably I should plan on ignoring the posted time next year and tuning in two and a half hours later.  I should be in time for the invocation, anthem and first green flag.  If I was at the track in the summer we'd likely go out and hang around in the parking lot until we heard cars being pushed off.  No problem if they want to do that but it's nice to know in advance.
