Not as much bragging about the Posse as there used to be, but its time now.... not only did they sweep the podium last nite, but out of 9 WoO races in Pa., Posse won 6, WoO 2 , & "True Outlaw" Larson, 1. Plus one of the WoO wins was by Jacob Allen, "Posse Alumnus"

I think Marks & Macri are as good as any WoO guys running now, & Lance is still Lance!

Lance and others have had the opportunity to go out on the road. The money available in central pa keeps them there. People may talk about knoxville, but in my eyes it's central pa that's the capital of sprint car racing. Knoxville's gumbo, black dirt, whatever you care to call it is what gives teams fits. Few teams from knoxville venture out of there comfort zone because of that surface they race on. And yes the best in central pa rarely do well out there because of it.  Bobby A. could give a class before the nationals and I bet you'd see a few central pa guys fit right in.

Not bad mouthing PA or it's racers, but no matter what Knoxville is still the sprint car racing capital.   When they spend the $$$ to turn the Grove into the facility that Knoxville is and the Open is as big as the Nationals then maybe that changes.

I'm not talking about "the capital" or facilities, just that the "new blood" Posse (& Lance) is kicking ass

I call pa the sprint car capital because of the options teams have available to them every weekend. We have 3 tracks all within 1 1/2 drive of each other.  If you throw in the available speed week shows you could easily run 60 nights with a couple all star or woo shows included. Remember they start early and run into October. They've plowed snow of the track. On a competition level I don't think it's even close. The outlaws roll into knoxville they usually have the majority of there followers  finishing in front of there regulars.

I am not a Larson fan at all but I think him winning as much here as he did in 2020 made some Pa. teams step up their game. I think that is what has made them competative against the WOO again.

100% agree, especially at Port. Marks also being based here raised Macri and Lances game. This is the best year for Pa based sprint cars since Wolfgang was in the Weikert 29.

I enjoy a good posse beat down of the outlaws as much as anyone, but honestly there are only 4 teams in PA currently capable of beating the outlaws - Lance, Marks, Macri and Dietrich....maybe Wagner at Port Royal but he hasn't been able to pull it off yet so...   I'm glad those guys were able to get the job done. Will Lance be able to race at this level for much longer at age 57? Will Marks and Macri be posse next year?

In Wolfie's book, he talked about the impotance placed on racing at that oddly shaped track multiply times over 20 years or more.  Never forget our first time there and the guy sitting next to me responded to me, after hearing me say something about the shape of the track (one and two), he said, they get around there pretty good.  Yeah, those who spend years racing at that track; its a cakewalk.

At that trip out east I was very impressed with those big block mods.  Not sure which track it was but those things are wicked fast.

Logan Wagner would have to TT better when the outlaws are in.  As the year went on Logan had one win in August and his previous win before that was in May.

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

The possee has looked good. I don't think they're as good as anyone on the WOO tour, maybe at that particular track. I think if any one of those guys jumped on the tour, which obviously some have, it's difficult to crack the top 10 in points.I think Macri is on his way there and would do okay. Okay as in top ten maybe. MAYBE.

I have to agree with Yungwun. At the Posse tracks, Williams Grove especially a lot of those guys can hang with or beat the WoO and they have a very respectable record against the WoO..

But if they go out on the road with the WoO, They're gonna get their asses handed to them. 5th to 10th place average finishes I would guess. Now if those guys were to stay on the road and put the years in then surely some of them would end up being top contenders. Macri, Rahmer, Marks some of the Pa. up and comers.

Hodnett probably did so good racing in Pa. because he raced with the WoO for so long, Then he took his talents to Pa. and fine tuned them on thos specific tracks.  Lance DeWease if he was to hit the road when he was just starting out, I have little doubt that he would have done well on the WoO circuit.

Yes, Marks started 14th in the big one and then I think 6th in the Kings Royal....I forget where did he finish these two races.... lets not forget about TX too.

Lance yes, Macri yes, but Marks is a legit top 3-5 team Nationally. Look at the record, beyond the 2 Eldora wins:

2nd at Volusia, wins at Devils Bowl and Knoxville, top 10 in the Nationals.

Lance is too old to be a top contender on the road and Macri is too young, but Marks is in his prime and is absolutely one of the best drivers in the country capable of winning anywhere.

Were there ever more than 4 teams capable of beating the Outlaws?

I've only been following sprint cars since 2010....

My first BIG race was when Sammy won the National Open, Lance close behind...

Yes, back in the 90's and 00's there were more top teams in PA that had a chance. Rahmer(Sr.), Dewease, Hodnett, Kreitz, Shaffer, Kauffman, Shepard, Pauch, Stevie Smith. I also remember Mark Smith, Chad Layton, Bill Brian Jr., and Chris Eash beating the WOO. Rahmer(Jr.) and Lucas Wolfe have beat the outlaws too but they haven't been very competitive with the WOO the last couple years. There was about a 5 year stretch back in the 00's when the posse had a better record against the WOO than this year.

Racings like a woman. Very fickle. Logan and jacob didn't set the world on fire when they raced here in posse land. I bought a Logan shirt when I think he won the Lincoln championship in a 358. We were all wondering what the hell are they doing going on the road with the big boys.  Well,, you can make a movie what them boys did   with Bobby
